Ok...I just watched the performance from last night and HOLY. FUCKING. SHIT.

Straight up legendary performance. Like, I hope this was professionally recorded for future release. The stage imagery and lyrics say it all. No need for Zack preaching between songs. It's almost like these dudes haven't even aged haha.

He hurt is leg at the Chicago show tonight 4 songs in and couldn’t stand the rest of the show. Had to be help off stage at the end of the show. Don’t know how bad it is but right now it don’t look good

i said it in the other thread but people have performed before without being able to put weight on their foot at all. him having to be in a boot would suck but there’s no reason to overreact yet

Dave Grohl had a thrown made after breaking his leg! Travis Barker played drums with one leg after getting the other stuck up Tom’s butt and breaking it AND THEN played drums with one arm in +44!

Zack had to sit on a road case for the entire show last night. Honestly? Didn’t matter. He still brought his energy the best he could and his vocals shredded.

Even though I was never a fan of it on record their The Ghost of Tom Joad cover absolutely went off live.

Well I went on Apple Music to see if they surprised dropped anything at 11. And we’ll they did but it’s not a new album it’s a live and rare album

I’m still in the camp of “Surely they’ve recorded new music by now”

To my knowledge, Zach de la Rocha hasn't put out any new music since 2008. I'd feel more secure about the chances of new material if he'd been prolific in that timespan, but at this point, I kind of wonder if he even likes making music anymore.

A guest spot isn't exactly the same thing. Hadn't heard about the solo songs though, and didn't see them when I went fact-checking.

Mm, one song in almost fifteen years does not really instill me with confidence, but whatever helps keep hope alive.

I can't quite get there because I believe there are some weaker tracks (Wind Below, Without a Face) although none are downright bad (such a thing doesn't exist for this band). There isn't a bad moment on their self-titled and The Battle of LA has Mic Check which is also kinda meh.

Evil Empire does have Tim's best bass tone tho for sure

I like the dirtier production and the songwriting is a little weirder/more angular I think which I tend to value more these days. But mostly it's bc when I listen to it I end up thinking "this is the hardest song I've ever heard" 11 times in a row

Self titled is a stone cold classic. The others are all good, but S/T can’t be touched

This has been my journey with Evil Empire, as well. Bought the cd back in like 2000 and I don't think I was ready for it, but it's become a ton of fun for me in my old age. The tones on the album are A++++.
