Dean, before his heel turn, was one of my favorites in WWE because he managed to pull off tweener face better than just about anyone. And considering the stories he was given (see: Ellsworth v AJ), he got a LOT of really shitty stuff over

One of the things his AEW run has made apparent is that he has one of the clearest visions of his characters of basically anyone in the business. If I were WWE, it'd haunt me that he cut their best kayfabe documentary (that WWE: Chronicle) and then they proceeded to use none of that character and book him so poorly he turned down millions to leave.

SD opened with Pat McAfee coming out for idk how long because I turned it off after 30 seconds and while I’m sure other promotions have opened shows with non-wrestlers idk it just really kind of shows how lacking stars / people they want to push / the E’s mindset when you have a commentator open the show (and have him in yet another match)
