  3. I don’t think the Calvin Harris song is very good at all… The Halsey part is the only really catchy part. The rest is just kinda whatever. Song of the summer? I dunno... It’s no “Leave The Door Open” or anything. But it’s always nice hearing JT’s voice on new stuff.

Yeah, very strange that Senses Fail isn’t here. Gonna give it a go. I don’t know, I just feel like Buddy hasn’t written a hook that has caught me since Renacer. God I love that album.

Gleemer (surprise!) - so far the production is unlike anything they’ve done. I’m really enjoying it.
Cartel (single) - man what a return for those guys. Band is criminally underrated. Self Titled is one of my favorite records ever.
Senses Fail - I hope it gets them some new fans. They seem to have fallen off quite a bit and I wish it weren’t so. Hopefully this album will do good things for them.
Beabadoobee - she should be as big as Phoebe Bridgers! I can’t wait to dive into this new record.

My guess is it’s because of the many problematic artists (Front Porch Step, No Good News, etc.) that their label, Pure Noise, has a history of signing.

A few that have piqued my interest for this week:

    - Trail of Dead
    - Gleemer
    - Yours Truly
    - Lizzo
    - Incorruptible Bodies (solo record from the violinist from yndi halda)

I'll probably spend most of the weekend playing the latest Paolo Nutini record though, which is just blowing me away more and more with every listen.

Gave it one spin so far this morning and it didn't grab me but there's definitely some good stuff in there. I think the first song they released "Going Clean" got me unfairly excited for it, if that makes sense?! Hopefully it grows on me too because that band is decent.

    D'oh! Prestigious

I hadn't been anticipating anything for today, but eventually it turned out to be quite stuck. As long as I'm busy at work I'm strting with some singles and more easy going releases like beabadoobee. Already listened to new EPs by Young The Giant and The Careful Ones (JMR's band). Though my release radar is starting to not deliver anymore - it didn't show me new Interpol is out already! Only another single on the list, though it's always something, Trail of Dead was not on my list at all hmm.

Regina Spektor's album came out like a month ago.

And was NOT expecting new music from HIPV again... loving this LP. First song didn't sound anything like their peak days, but dug it. Second song sounds like something Finch should've put out post WIITB. Third one reminds me of classic HIPV meets Boys Like Girls.

Agreed. I thought the song was underwhelming at best considering the star power on the track.
