Beat Kitchen is also doing unofficial after parties on Friday and Saturday with The Emo Band (live band karaoke).

  2. I don't know if I'll ever be able to top the delirium of staying at Liar's Club til 2ish for Daikaiju last year on Sunday, but that was definitely worth the miserable flight home the next morning.

Overall I'm just trying to calm my antsiness about aftershows. Last year we didn't buy any tickets until we were already there and it was a fantastic time, so why should this year be any different?

How do you all get all these emails from them? Every time one is mentioned on here I never get them, not to my spam folder or anything

same, i just get ones about shows they're sponsoring. but it might be because they already know i have my 3 day pass. they should message people like me about upgrading their ticket because id cave eventually.

Didn't they say a few weeks ago that weekend passes were almost sold out, but they still haven't? Unless I'm mistaken?

Curious that the e-mail didn't mention anything about aftershows or more bands. You'd think they'd try using that as an extra selling point. Hah.

Also? That Angel Du$t/One Step Closer show is a tasty treat.

Beat kitchen is probably my favorite Chicago venue as well all things considered.

  11. This post on IG really tricked me because I skimmed past "no support" on the asterisk for festival dates haha

Sleeping Village would be number one if they didn’t ban stage dives. Kind of defeats the purpose of some punk and hardcore shows. I love Sub T as well, but you lose some of the stage by going to the balcony, but it is a nice option for some shows. I also like the floor shows on the bottom level.

i hear you, maybe in my younger days i would agree, but my stage diving days are long gone. now i love a nice railing, a place to put my drink and a unique (but sometimes obscured) view. subt for life.

It’s not so much that I am diving it’s more so the energy of certain shows when it’s there compared to when it’s not.

i got a face book notification about riot fest changing their website info (which is a bizarrely pointless thing to get a notification about). then i went to the website and in the giant animated scroll it does look like they added "late night shows coming soon" and in the daily line ups area putting "we will release set times when we fee like it" but i dont remember if those were already there or not, the length of scrolling felt longer than last time i checked.

I got the e-mail twice! Got it around the same time Tifoil posted it. And then I got it right now with the rest of you. Something must be wonky with the mailing list...

That said? No additional info in the e-mail. Kinda cool that tickets are running low, though. Would be rad for them to get another sellout day under their belt!

I'm not seeing anything new on the site. I think it's all been there for a while.

Though it is worth noting that it still says there are special events coming for 2022... Maybe the fact that things are exactly as they were is a good sign?

Yes. If that band's playing any festivals it'll be Welcome To RaWkViLlE with Disturbed and Avenged Sevenfold or whoever's turn it is in the rotation at those festivals next year.

Riot is super picky about the metal they book and Pantera ain't it.

I'd bet money that Pantera will be one of the big gets for the butt rock festival circuit next year (Aftershock, Louder Than Life, etc)

Yeah, I would peg them as the last of three headliners on a festival like that (in terms of popularity/draw).

But I'm also potentially underestimating the draw. Either way, they aren't really a Riot band.

  25. If the kids I went to high school with who played confederate flag guitars and absolutely worshipped Pantera are any indication, you might be underestimating it.

On the other hand, the “it’s not Pantera without Dimebag and Vinnie” crowd seems pretty loud and passionate, so who knows.
