Man... I was REALLY feeling this song and then the chorus hits and it's... not good. The verses bang, but that chorus is not my thing at all

Good track, those guitar tones are wild for them. Here for, uhhhh, post-pop Death Cab lol

 

The song is decent. I really like the instrumentals, but just like the last one, I don't like the repetition in the verses.

 

Yeah I didn't mind the repetition on "Roman Candles" but it's more noticeable that they do it here, too. Only thing really holding this one back for me. Super cool singles, though. Record should be interesting

 

Like the noisy instrumental more on the first single, would rather have a whole album of that than every song using repetition but hopefully there’s variety and these songs both pretty different from eachother, hype level is medium because this could end up being their best in a while but I’m worried it’s gonna sound a bit bland again

 

I also listened when basically asleep, listen two I love the verses, bridge, the solo if you wanna call it that, chorus would of been saved if they brought some of that noise from Roman Candles, not even anything crazy, just feels thin instrumentally like no buildup/payoff and not good chorus lyrics

 

Idk, those guitar tones are pretty new for them lol. Reminds me of how I felt when I heard "Japanese Trees" by Modest Mouse for the first time

 

Honestly one of my favorite songs from them in a long time

 

I like it. Reminds me of some of my favorite songs from the last album.

 

I enjoyed Roman Candles quite a bit, and absolutely love this new one. 2/2 for me so far!

 

I think I’m just gonna listen to this track once and then wait for the full album to drop so I can listen in full with total context. I have a good feeling about this album.

I take the criticisms here with a grain of salt. There always seems to be weird reactions in the Death Cab thread when new material releases, it’s like 50% of the people in this thread only like pre-Narrow Stairs and come in here just to vocalize their disappointment.

 

This album is still two months away? Man...

 

i liked this a lot more on second listen. i do wish they’d go full Low Double Negative tho lol

Yeah, very New Order sounding guitar. I like the verses, but not the chorus.

 

Pretty good song. Echoing others in here that the chorus can get repetitive by the end, but I actually like the melody so it doesn't bother me much.

 

This plus the tiktok channel makes it look like they’re trying reallll hard.

 

Definitely some growth for them on this song, gonna need to give it some repeated listens.
