"To him, the ability to be funny in a foreign language is the height of sophistication. It means you must have empathy and the will to be vulnerable and human by taking the risk of getting it wrong. "

*big shrug* I promise you I am not missing out by not liking Weezer. am very content. a decade ago I would have insisted Pinkerton was a masterpiece, but now it just induces extreme cringe lol.

I saw someone once say that Weezer is the base level for music. Anything better than Weezer is good, and anything worse than Weezer is bad.

People, we’re completing glossing over the fact that in the Rolling Stone article they say the closer is country inspired.

I've often thought of Weezer since the ILIWYS-era due to the album having the same cover but with a different color and asking myself, "Do I really like New Age Weezer?"

no shade to anyone who is a Weezer fan. most of y’all would probably clown me for liking Korn lmao, we all have different takeaways from stuff! I just really loathe Rivers Cuomo for some reason.

Instead of this dumbass convo you guys should dive into this:
The 1975’s Frontman Picks His 7 Favorite ’80s Records

If you read my posts you've probably seen me talk about The Blue Nile ad nauseam these past few years. If I haven't sold you, Matty calls Hats the best record of the 80s. If you're a fan of this band and haven't listened to that or A Walk Across the Rooftops, you're missing out!

The Lilo Thomas record on there is also very, very good

Those are definitely my top 3, and the order changes all the time. If we're not counting Stop Making Sense, which has my favorite versions of all of their songs

yeah, just finished reading and it was very good and got me all the more intrigued bc this seems to be a pretty different record we’re about to get, at least in terms of its ethos.

Cake doesn't have a single album that it is good all the way through, but I like 3-4 songs an album usually.
