Also, why the hell are we still gatekeeping second boosters? Are they not opening it up to the general public because they know they're going to release a variant specific shot(s) soon?

of getting a booster? Not sure, but knock on all the fucking wood, I've had 2 shots and a booster since October 2021. My brother who is also vaxed and boosted got covid twice (the second time was right after this past Christmas...my cousins husband had symptoms but didn't fucking tell anyone, so half of the family got sick....I did not thankfully). I've dodged it like 4-5 times now. Its probably because I don't go anywhere but work and home.

 

My first booster was in april and I thought I would be able to get another one this month, but walgreens app keeps telling me its too soon. ugh.

 

Next boosters coming out should be more immune protective, aka might actually stop more infections and illnesses, since they're more aligned with current variants

 

yeah that's the one I want. I am not wasting my time with the fucking fourth dose of the first vaccine lol

 

I also lost my step father November 2020, advanced lung cancer....they didn't say anything about if covid played a part, but after he died, I died a little and I got worried about the old people in my life....I still wear a mask if I go into a store or a restaurant (I'll take if off once I'm at my seat) because that's just me. I still have old af grandparents that I want around a little longer and friends who have health issues.....I'm just a rule follower I guess.

I just never want to get covid. Ever.

 

I'm at that stage now. I've put off getting boosted so far, because in December my antibodies number was still high, then as Omicron kicked off they told us "oh yeah omicron booster should be ready to go by April", so I said alright, i know my antibody number is high, I'll roll the dice and wait for that one....but it didn't come. I SHOULD have got boosted then, but didn't.

Now I'm gonna wait until either this August one or October one (or, again, Novavax). I'm still able to stay away from most people, so the biggest risks now are our son's summer camp, and a trip we're taking to NH with wife's family this upcoming week. Hoping to avoid spending time indoors with any large group of them.

Relatedly, we just scheduled my son's first shot tomorrow after camp, hes getting moderna. I'm both feeling relieved but also nervous, which shows how strong antivax proppo has been these last two years lol.

 

100% don't get it. never been that sick, even-though I was double vaxxed when I got it. I still haven't fully recovered.

My neighbor has long covid. she's like 59 and was the perfect image of a healthy woman when we moved in next door in october. Now she can't work and is on heart meds. Thank god for her husband.....that man is a saint!

 

I’m on day 5 of this shit and it’s mild but so ready to be done; this headache won’t go away, my head is so congested, and it’s fucking with my Crohn’s disease.

 

my symptoms aren't that bad but I definitely still can't smell a lot of things and my brain is scrambled as hell.

yeah it definitely did stuff to my digestion just no way to know for sure.

Yeah, I gotta second this - I've had it three times and it's kicked the shit out of me all three times. The middle time I felt like I was going to die and almost ended up in the hospital. This last time I got it, it lasted the longest and was really fucking bad, but I didn't actually feel like I was going to die at any point. It lingered forever though. I had a bad cough for weeks and weeks, and for a long time after I would start coughing if I laughed or anything like that.
