How are you just now checking it out? I thought the live stream only operated over that weekend.

  9. Hmm feels a lot closer to the basic metalcore sound that most bands in the genre adopt. Without Sam on vocals I wouldn't be able to name which band this is, and I've never been able to say that about any release of theirs since the pre-Hollow Crown stuff.

Really really dig this. I never claim to be able to speak to the finer nuances of once 'metal/metalcore' bands that have veered into 'radio rock' territory, but if this is what radio rock can be, please inject it into my veins.

Catchy hooks, killer riffs, and overall driving sound. More please.

Not sure why I was surprised it wasn’t an Adele cover

Solid song but just sounds like animals to me

I'm into it even though... I already don't remember anything from it. It really does sound faceless, like every other metalcore band that started using Sempiternal and That's The Spirit as a template in the last decade. It makes this feel dated in a sense.

Or maybe dated isn't the most apt word considering this new sound is actually bringing them more success than ever. I don't know, it's hard to show much excitement for something that I feel like I've heard a thousand times before.

This is a great comparison and one that I immediately thought of yesterday and wouldn't mind rambling about for a bit. Like I mentioned before, I've only dabbled in metalcore so if I sound ignorant, just bear with me.

I actually got into BMTH with amo a few years ago when I met my wife (who is a big fan of theirs). So I worked backwards to discover Semipiternal and That's The Spirit, and really feel like those have to be kinda landmarks of that genre, right?

I found their earlier stuff (and much of Architects, to be honest) to be too abrasive and lacking melody/song structure. Now obviously that's perfectly fine for many fans, that are more concerned about the technicality of the music. All of this is subjective of course. But I think that when Jordan Fish joined BMTH, they became leaders and innovators of taking the heavy music, but adding a lot of depth, with layers of electronic and even orchestral (at times) influence, and just straight up catchy and memorable songs. Why BMTH is not insanely and wildly massive in the US is beyond me.

Naturally tons of bands are going to follow suit, and I'd assume Architects can be lumped in with that. I think it's great, every genre has bands/artists that sort of 'sound similar' to other bands, that doesn't have to be a bad thing. Cheers!

Would makes sense as it coincides with a US tour in the fall. I would think a single would be coming in the next few weeks if that’s the case.
