I believe he was going to assume ownership over it based on his commentary to Don Eladio. I think it would become theirs to use? Not 100%

Quite a riveting episode considering we know the finer points of what happens and who survives. That’s what impressed me the most. I know Gus survives this encounter and I’m still so invested and nervous.

I thought Kim was just going to leave. I thought that’s why Jimmy wanted to switch.

Do we know if the Gene stuff is during the timeline of Walt being in New Hampshire or after BB? I don’t remember at all.

I dunno. I watched most of the BB marathon today and I was thinking about that.

Safe to assume. Smart thing would be to get the proof and get out, obviously he knew Gus would figure it out and show up but nobody ever accused Lalo of not being cocky

Jimmy definitely wanted her to just leave, we see her considering it then changing her mind when she’s next to the police at the traffic light.

Lalo was trying to get proof per Hector’s orders, then he made the mistake of taking the time to gloat and savor the moment

That’s how I saw those moments, at least

Loved Jimmy trying to lawyer Lalo exactly like he did Tuco

Also did he really leave that gun in the lab with only one round? or did I miss something? It sure seemed like it fired and then click click click

It did seem like that but on the rewatch looks like he fires at least three

Also on the rewatch, burying Howard still fucked me up

Now we get to rewatch breaking bad knowing that where Jesse and Walt are cooking for Gus, the whole time, the bodies of Lalo and Howard are underneath them

That was both an incredibly cool and incredibly disturbing tie-in for the seemingly unrelated characters from this show to BB

Great episode, definitely thought we were getting more out of Lalo

Well I now have no idea what will happen in those 5 final episodes, and we are talking about a prequel here. One of the best shows on TV, hope they can close it out and cement it ( like they did with Lalo and Howard) just like that forever.

I almost forgot -- Saul said the line again ("It wasn't me, it was Ignacio!")

    hmmm

Not a great conclusion to Lalo in my opinion. I guess, given the superhero level perception the writers have sometimes given him (as well as Gus and Mike), his demise would have to be as a result of his hubris but as soon as he started filming Gus it seemed fairly obvious what was going to happen, and going out in a slightly contrived, bad Bond villain way feels like it doesn't quite do justice to his character.

Mike being unnecessarily vague with Kim and Jimmy about Lalo no longer being a threat was just an easy way for the writers to tie up loose ends in order to avoid any messy Lalo overlap with the BB storyline. Bit disappointed that aspect wasn't done in a more interesting, satisfying way.

Did not realize the parallels with Kim parking on the corner and walking up to Gus's house with the gun were almost beat for beat the same when Walt did the same thing in BB

Kinda like Hank/Howard's "smartest person I know" final words. Love parallels like that

I'm really dreading Kim's ending now. I feel like she's not going to accept that Howard never happened. And that wouldn't go well.

Edit: for the record I would prefer to be wrong

The end with Mike stressing and needing to hear them say that everything they just went through "didn't happen" felt like the crucial moment to me. Jimmy can do that - he's pretty much used to needing to ignore or forget things that might otherwise nag on his conscience. I think this is too much for Kim. I couldn't guess what actually happens to her, but I think this will be a breaking point for her and Jimmy.
