AV Club had some really talented writers back in the day. The comment section was nearly as good in its own right. Incredible how far it’s fallen.

 

Like who are those lists for? Can you imagine somebody studiously reading each of those 100 blurbs? “Pepper Potts rules because she’s smart and loves Tony but is also a badass woman. Next up, character #77”.

av club was definitely one of the more pronounced and sad they got bought out and everything went to shit

 

furious at AV Undercover getting shuttered and a lot of those videos being lost to time

 

I wish those undercover sessions were released via digital audio too. I see a lot got archived on other YouTube channels but that sucks

 

It's so weird that they wouldn't show which of their shows are out or underperforming.

What's everyone's thoughts on Julia roberts? I feel like everyone loves her but looking at her filmography she hasn't done anything interesting since the oceans movies except maybe homecoming but I don't remember much about it.

 

Notting Hill, Pretty Woman, and Hook are essentials. Those are the only ones that really matter to me.

 

Erin Brockovich is good

 

Rewatching slackers and this movie is bad and super problematic!

 

Just watched The Birdcage for the first time and I enjoyed it, but I wanted to punch their asshole of a son the whole time.

Watched Terminator 2 as well and thought it was overrated

 

Terminator 2 is close to a perfect film. Decades of copycats haven't been able to surpass it. Coincidentally, it destroyed the idea of a successful Terminator franchise, since almost every sequel has been a copy of it.

 

Went on a Julia Roberts kick last summer. I thought Pretty Woman was very bad. She was great in it, but Richard Gere killed the onscreen chemistry. Mystic Pizza, Erin Brockovich, and Steel Magnolia's are great though.
