    So if it works out this year, he gets a new deal. If he actually is washed, it's not that bad of a deal

    Really happy with this. Harden should get a lot of credit for turning down $15 million for the betterment of the team - it doesn't happen often in pro sports

    I know it’s not quite what you mean, but most players shouldn’t do that. Totally fine for a guy like him in the twilight of his career though, who has made plenty already. He deserves credit, I agree

    I’m sure he had pressure from the agent and player’s union to not do that. But I think with where other contracts are at and Harden being at an inflection point of sorts, it doesn’t rock the boat for escalating contracts all that much. I think the NBA can handle it more than maybe another league could.

    That's about the best deal Sixers could have gotten for him. It makes sense, he doesn't deserve a max anymore even though he could probably get one, and he's got as good a chance to win with Embiid as he's ever had basically.
