I was there too! First time at that venue but super impressed. Felt very open despite being pretty full, and the balcony with seats is a real nice option. I also thought the mix was amazing without being crushingly loud. Will definitely look forward to seeing more bands there in future.

 

Still bummed about not getting "The Silence" at either of my shows last fall, but man, "Dinosaur" live is such a treat. Every time I see someone mention it I get goosebumps again. That extended outro.

 

Selling my white 2014 pressing of Simple Math for $65 if anyone wants it. Seems pretty cheap compared to what it goes for on Discogs these days.

 

One thing I will never thank the band for is this pitiful patreon. I’ve spent $20 a month for over two years and 90% of the podcasts are them fucking around with each other and making inside jokes for 25 minutes. The rest of where my money goes towards is a monthly concert which has turned into 90% of the time just being Andy playing like 8 acoustic songs. And a monthly old demo.


I guess the concert and vinyl presale is nice.

wish they’d scale back some tier or price wise as they are doing the bare minimum compared to someone like Kevin who has built a nice community around his.

oh well. I’ll just consider it a donation at this point and I’ll see them at the stuffing lol.

sorry for the rant lol. I rarely have any complaints about this band, but it’s been pretty lame for a bit.

 

did sinful math ever happen?

 

it came out digitally in separate mp4s but the physical release has been pushed back very far due to all the vinyl delays.

 

I unsubbed. I got tired of waiting for the sinful math vinyl

 

I never saw an actual digital release of something I’d consider the official Sinful Math, just a bunch of demos and unfinished songs … in meh quality. What’s the official track listing look like and where are the final versions in this awful to navigate system?

 

Unfortunately there is no official track list and they stopped tagging the posts so you can’t click music and see all the music posts. So you have to scroll all the way back in chronological order and put all the downloads together. I posted what I assume are the sinful math songs in this thread a while ago I will try to find.

Yeah that’s pretty much what I have. None of them sound “done” or album quality though … if that ends up being the fabled “album” … I’d be disappointed.

 

I’ve thought of subscribing to their patreon but you talked me out of it. Do they have a discord or forum or something to let them know how you feel? Maybe if you brought up your disappointment and have suggestions for what they could change, other people might chime in and agree with you, and the band *might listen and change some things

 

I mean. I have a few avenues to tell him directly myself. But I think the most useful one might be a few highly upvoted posts on the subreddit about the lack of quality. Because otherwise it’s just me whining about it. If there is a pretty big consensus that a large number of people have unsubscribed and would resubscribe if the quality went up, I could see them maybe re-evaluating. They’re back touring a ton so they don’t NEED this as a revenue stream, and they’ve been busy touring which is why it’s all tanked.

 

yeah, I don’t believe it was ever fully produced and mastered. Just a bunch of songs left on the cutting room floor of Simple Math. It grew in legend over the years so they figured they’d capitalize on it.
