y’all don’t have to take trucker drugs to watch summer league. you can just go to bed. it’s ok

unless you’re a kings or magic fan. it doesn’t really get better than this for you.

 

I’m seeing a lot of dunks like this on the Wolves and Gobert, but I’m really high on them and think it was a great trade. I wouldn’t be surprised to see them make a finals run in the next four years at all, all they need is their young guys to keep progressing and a little luck, there’s not a stacked title favorite team right now so why not go all in.

they were a first round exit last year and they mortgaged their entire future for someone who is, maybe, a top 25-30 guy. yeah i’m not buying it.

 

I do think Rudy and Kat balance eat other out pretty well on the front line, but there's not a ton of evidence that a twin towers line up works in the modern age, so it's fair to be skeptical.

 

Wolves could be a 3-5 seed next season. They should be good in the regular season.

 

I think top 25-30 guy is fair, but he does seem to be a great fit. Giving too many picks/mortgaging their future doesn’t make them a worse team next year.

Ant was awesome last year but they’ll go as far as he takes them. He needs to hit another level for them to be a serious contender, which is totally possible.

Minnesota has had 9 winning seasons in their history. They’ve won two playoff series and those were both in the same year.

The Rudy trade is a pretty big gamble but like… they gotta take a chance while they have Ant and KAT. Was it the right gamble? We’ll see, but even if it gets them to be a consistent winning +500 team and win a few playoff rounds then, in a sense, it’s a “win” for them.

One thing that I found interesting was reading that Minny was one of the healthiest teams last year. I feel like rarely do teams stay healthy from year to year so that could be a concern but who knows!

yeah I heard that on The Lowe Post (I think) and literally paused the podcast and said, “no fucking way” and sure enough, 2-9 playoff series record and both series wins came in the same damn season

It's only summer league, but Paolo's looking good. Obviously his shot is falling, but he also looks engaged and capable defensively. On the flip side RJ Hampton has been a mixed bag. His handle looks tighter, but he's still got issues finishing.

Paolo looks like he put on 20lbs and grew 3 inches in 4 months

 

Hampton being in his third? year and looking like the worst player on the court isn’t good for his future

 

I give him props for putting himself out there, but he still looks like he's a year away from being a year away. I've watched every one of his Magic games, and save for a few moments here and there, I'm not impressed.

I love how Caleb Houstan actually outscored both Paolo and Jabari. Hopefully he'll take some of Okeke and Hampton's minutes.
