Friday Night Lights' audience was pretty much the opposite of who they were depicting which is why they would change timeslots and marketing and even channels.

All who like The Wire should watch David Simon’s newest show We Own This City. Only six episodes of distilled excellence. A thematic counterpart to the story told in The Wire.

Damn a legend, I really wanna cry I've been rewatching along with the podcast and just finished The Ride

 

Fuck, he was incredible in this. RIP.

That sense of boyishness as he defers to one of the few people he truly loves. I doubt they thought the character would go to such places but he ended up with a tremendous amount of depth.
