    Great Googly Moogly Supporter

I'm surprised to hear a team like Utah and Arizona preferring to leave wash/oregon/Stanford for the bjg12.

Rather than just purging the big 12 teams. I feel like those pac schools are still the best programs of the two conferences in terms of institutions/brand and quality.

Adding Boise, SDSU, OK STATE. and the 3 texas teams makes the pac perfectly solid if you ask me

So that's potentially (going on the current rumors/future confirmed changes):

SEC (16): Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, LSU, Mississippi State, Missouri, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Texas A&M, Vanderbilt

Big 10 (16): Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Maryland, Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Nebraska, Northwestern, Ohio State, Penn State, Purdue, Rutgers, UCLA, USC, Wisconsin

Big 12 (18): Arizona, Arizona State, Baylor, BYU, Cincinnati, Colorado, Houston, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Oklahoma State, Oregon, TCU, Texas Tech, UCF, Utah, Washington, West Virginia

Assuming the ACC swells to 16 to match, that's one added to: Boston College, Clemson, Duke, FSU, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Miami, UNC, NC State, Notre Dame, Pitt, Syracuse, UVA, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest. Not sure who you'd add, though. Maybe USF?

That'd leave Cal, Stanford, Oregon State, and Washington State stranded/joining the Mountain West?

I hate all of this. I feel bad for the smaller schools that are getting absolutely fucked by these super leagues forming.

I think Cal and Stanford join the Big 10. Notre Dame is likely Big Ten bound. Oregon and Washnigton too. Oregon State and Washington State probably Big 12. Clemson, FSU, Miami, and Virginia Tech are already rumored to be looking at moving to the SEC.

Sun Belt, CUSA, and MAC can stay as is

New Mexico, NMSU, Tulsa, Utah State, and Wyoming merge with the WAC thing that’s re-appearing eventually

This is obviously the homer in me talking and I might just be sensitive after only winning 9 games in 3 years, but I have a severe issue with Indiana, Illinois, Purdue, Maryland, Minnesota, Syracuse, Pitt, Mizzou, Kansas, and both Carolinas having a proverbial seat at the table over Georgia Tech. I know it’s not the 60s anymore but damn..lol.

It also might be time for me to take a break from super conference speculation for the day…ha

For sure. But they would be so stupid to call the division with all the Midwest teams the “west”. Cmon rando Reddit user.

    The rivalry is back on

I mostly did it that way because 90% of those teams are already in those conferences, so it makes more sense for PAC/ACC/B12 teams to get excluded than the incumbent mediocre SEC/B1G teams

personally, I really like the idea of all the teams with the same lofty academic standards playing every year and that sounds like a fun conference to follow. but, for the others, UNC is definitely the better program, but for Kansas/Syracuse, went with the basketball brand name, and Pitt makes geographic sense

I tend to think “all-time” when discussing who has a better program but that is also something that is essential to do when arguing the merits of Georgia Tech football…so..lol

SHAKE-UP. I HAVE TAKEN THIS TOO FAR.

There are now three subdivisions of division one athletics. Division I and Division II will be four conferences of 20 teams, with Division III being four conferences of 25 teams. Each team plays a 12-game schedule. The top four in each conference play in a playoffs for the conference title. The winners earn byes in the playoffs. The playoffs are 12 teams, the four conference champions and eight at-large teams.

For the Division I and II, the bottom team in each conference enters a playoff, the two losers are relegated. For Division II and III, the teams in the finals will be promoted.

    DIVISION I - Power Football

    SEC:

Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Clemson, Florida, FSU, Georgia, LSU, Miami, Mississippi, Miss State, Missouri, North Carolina, NC State, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Texas A&M, Virginia Tech

    Big Football:

Baylor, Cincinnati, Iowa, Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Purdue, Ohio State, Oregon, Stanford, UCF, UCLA, USC, Utah, Washington, Wisconsin

    Sun Belt:

Appalachian State, Arizona, Arizona State, Coastal Carolina, Duke, East Carolina, Georgia Tech, Houston, Kansas State, Kentucky, Louisiana, Louisville, Memphis, Nevada, Oklahoma State, SMU, TCU, Texas Tech, Vanderbilt, Wake Forest

    Conference USA:

Boise State, Boston College, BYU, Cal, Colorado, Fresno State, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa State, Maryland, Navy Northwestern, Oregon State, Rutgers, San Diego State, Syracuse, Virginia, Washington State, West Virginia, Wyoming

DIVISION II - Football Championship Subdivision:

    ACC:

Army, Buffalo, Charlotte, East Tennessee State, James Madison, Liberty, Maine, Marshall, Mid Tennessee, New Hampshire, North Carolina A&T, Old Dominion, Richmond, Temple, Tennessee Martin, UConn, UMass, Villanova, Wofford, Youngstown State

    Southland:

Florida A&M, Florida Atlantic, Florida International, Georgia Southern, Georgia State, Jackson State, Jacksonville State, Kennesaw State, Louisiana Tech, Rice, Sam Houston State, South Alabama, Southeastern Louisiana, Southern Miss, Troy, Tulane, UAB, ULM, USF, Western Kentucky

    MAC:

Akron, Arkansas State, Ball State, Bowling Green, Central Arkansas, Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Illinois State, Incarnate Word, Kansas, Kent State, Miami (OH), North Texas, Northern Illinois, Northern Iowa, Ohio, Texas State, Toledo, UTSA, Western Michigan

    Pacific:

Air Force, Colorado State, Eastern Washington, Hawaii, Montana, Montana State, New Mexico, New Mexico State, North Dakota, North Dakota State, Sacramento State, San Diego, San Jose State, South Dakota State, Tulsa, UC Davis, UNLV, Utah State, UTEP, Weber State

DIVISION III - Football Bowl Subdivision:

    Atlantic Sun:

Albany, Brown, Bryant, Central Connecticut State, Colgate, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Delaware, Delaware State, Fordham, Harvard, Holy Cross, Long Island, Marist, Merrimack, Monmouth, Pen, Princeton, Rhode Island, Sacred Heart, Stonehill, Stony Brook, Wagner, Yale

    Southern:

Alabama A&M, Alabama State, Bethune-Cookman, Campbell, Charleston Southern, Davidson, Elon, Furman, Gardner-Webb, Georgetown, Hampton, Howard, Mercer, Mississippi Valley State, Morgan Stae, Norfolk State, North Carolina Central, Presbyterian, Samford, South Carolina State, Stetson, The Citadel, Towson, Western Carolina, William & Mary

    Valleys:

Austin Peay, Bucknell, Butler, Chattanooga, Dayton, Drake, Duquesne, Eastern Illinois, Eastern Kentucky, Indiana State, Lafayette, Lehigh, Lindenwood, Morehead State, Murray State, North Alabama, Robert Morris, Saint Francis (PA), Southeast Missouri State, Southern Illinois, Tennessee State, Tennessee Tech, Valparaiso, VMI, Western Illinois

    Western Athletic Conference:

Abilene Christian, Alcorn State, Arkansas Pine-Bluff, Cal Poly, Grambling, Houston Baptist, Idaho, Idaho State, Lamar, McNeese, Missouri State, Nicholls, Nothern Arizona, Northern Colorado, Northwestern State, Portland State, Prairie View A&M, South Dakota, Southern, Southern Utah, Stephen F. Austin, Tarleton State, Texas A&M-Commerce, Texas Southern, Utah Tech

In practice, division one would look something like

SEC: Alabama vs. Oklahoma / Georgia vs. Mississippi

B1G: Michigan vs. Ohio State / Cincinnati vs. Notre Dame

Sun-Belt: Oklahoma State vs. Louisiana / Kentucky vs. Houston

C-USA: BYU vs. Boise State / San Diego State vs. Fresno State

    then the playoffs like

    bracket.JPG

    and then for relegation:

    Florida State would play Arizona
    Nebraska would Indiana

I think both FSU and Nebraska easily clear and so Arizona and Indiana are relegated and, i'm not going do a whole D2 simulation but let's go with Liberty and Tulsa are promoted. Tulsa to the Sun-Belt, Liberty to C-USA; Arizona to Pacific, Indiana to ACC.
