Never heard of it

 

I saw Heat at the New Beverly (Tarantino's theater) last year and it was...an experience. Film guys are weird.

 

Guy I work with thinks I have bad taste because I've never seen Top Gun or Dirty Dancing but I've seen M

Had a conversation with him yesterday where he was talking about method actors, and when I told him that I thought that was super lame, his response was "you have horrible opinions man, keep watching your dumb silent films"

Yep. The increased access to foreign films in the last decade has been great. Even films that I haven't loved have at least been interesting because they often are told from a completely different perspective than I seen before. Which is also another reason to continue to promote diversity in creatives within the American film industry as well. Art is more entertaining in general when it can challenge the audience.

 

This may be a bit over the top, but watching those films can help make you a more empathetic person. You really get a sense of how small the world is and how universal our experiences are. I can watch something like Tokyo Story, which takes place in postwar Japan, and get insight into the same sort of conflicts in family relationships that you can find in modern society.

 

That's a very confusing way to tell me that Adam Scott is not in the cast
