I'm a huge unapologetic Avatar stan and holy shit this is going to be awesome.

Fun fact: I wasn't in one of the sections that did it, but in my high school two teachers taught biology with a curriculum based entirely around Avatar. Like, 100% every single assignment and lesson was rooted in the Na'avi ecosystem as a parallel to the real world.

Idk, the two teachers doing it were probably older millennials? This was probably 2010-2011, prime Avatar years. And it wasn't even an elective, it was just regular Biology class (I might have not had it because I was in honors? Now that I'm remembering more...)

I’ve often thought about the possibility of designing an elective history class through the lens of Avatar. Biology would be cool too, but seems a lot harder for me to connect to real content.

    Applies to college

    “so you took biology?”

“yeah! It was based on avatar!”

    “uhhh what?”

I think they only did it one semester because it was dumb. This is also just a normal suburban public school, not some bougie private school

We used Avatar as a parallel to European colonialism. I didn't complain because it was four days of sitting at my desk not having to teach.

I saw the part where an alien comes out from underneath the water holding an assault rife and thought "this is the most James Camerony thing James Cameron has ever shot".

Plus in this you also got mechs and scenes taking place in a dark dank industrial setting with flashing lights. All classic Cameronisms.

With the Disney/HBO deal with former Fox properties it's probably going to be on both
