Playing rn, i’m liking it.

 

Anyone wanna try and sell me on Nioh Automata? Been curious about it for a while.

 

It's aggressively fine

 

It’s a very nice Platinum-lite game with great art and cutscenes. Little drab at times but it really goes places.

 

It’s a really compelling story/world for an action RPG. Your mileage may vary on the gameplay/combat, I thought it was pretty fun. Just note that you MUST be willing to play through multiple times. First play through will run you about 10-15 hours, and each subsequent one will be shorter until you get the true ending on run 5.

Niet is very weird in a good way and very interesting, but the actual gameplay and the “level design” gets old fast (in the context of how long the game *actually* is), especially around the second playthrough or so imo. That being said, you will have already played for a while at that point and probably enjoyed it. So idk, I guess I recommend it, I just think the hype is a little overblown.

 

NieR Automata is one of my all time favorites. The story itself is fantastic and moving in a lot of ways, and I had a ton of fun with the combat.

 

Also apart from the first half of the 2nd playthrough they are wildly different.

 

In 2017, Nintendo released BOTW, Atlus released Persona 5 and SE/Platinum released Nier Automata and I think Nier is the best of the three

the true ending is one of the all-time transcendent video game experiences

 

A new game with characters from a bunch of anime:

SpyxFamily, Kaiju No 8, Heart Gear, Hell’s Paradise, Summertime Rendering, Death Reaper Girl, Slime, and I think one more

 

As I pointed out elsewhere, just saying Slime is misleading.

We all know there's only one true anime Slime, and that isn't it.

 

To those who completed all the main missions in Legends Arceus, how long did it take you to catch all of the Pokémon? I'm wanting Arceus for Brilliant Diamond, but I feel like it will take a while.

 

I actually just “finished” the main missions and am on the post game stuff. I still haven’t caught all the Pokémon. There’s a lot of post game stuff with legendaries and whatnot. I also can’t find a cherim!

 

Hiding Arceus behind the completion of an entire Pokédex in a separate game is ridiculous....but I'm going to do it. It will just be exhausting.

 

Just ordered an OLED Switch to replace my current one with a busted SD card reader. Got an OLED because I figured I might as well upgrade.

Does it really make that big of difference?

 

Portable? Extremely.

 

Since I got my oled I pretty much exclusively play handheld

 

Player's Log: Live A Live demo

Much shorter than I thought, but I suppose that's ok. The kung fu chapter was probably my favorite and the only one that didn't end on a cliffhanger, can't wait to see that develop. The space one is basically a visual novel that ends right when shit goes down. The shinobi one is cool design, the castle and visuals are beautiful. I got wrecked after getting ambushed by 5 ninjas, but restarted and was able to get further in the castle before the chapter ended.

Can't wait for the full release!

 

I put in almost 60 hours, I think, including all side quests and I stopped when I caught Arceus. I will say, and I hope this isn't a spoiler or discourages you too much, but the final meeting with Arceus was really disappointing to me, like one of the worst boss fights I've ever experienced in a game before.
