    We still do it every day but the internet has made kids very aware that they have the right to not stand or say it haha

    Or, I think they had the choice to either stand and pledge or sit and stay quiet.

    did you guys ever get in trouble for sitting during the pledge. i saw it happen more than once when i was in school.

    I didn't think it was weird until I moved abroad as a kid and suddenly didn't have to do it anymore. Then I realized how odd it seemed. That and the national anthem before sporting events. It's an annoying ritual honestly.

    i graduated hs in pa in 2012. worst that would happen to me for not participating was a stinkeye. i did get sent to the office for wearing an antiflag shirt once though lol.

    I lived in PA for about a year and I'm not even shocked by this.

    Being from MA and living in PA was the most insane culture shock I've ever experienced. That state (more like central PA) is so backwards that I haven't been back since I left in 2010.

    ive lived in both too. people only thinking of philly forget about pennsyltucky for sure but bumfuck mass is definitely a thing too tbh

    I couldn't recite the pledge if you put a gun to my head. And that's coming from someone who works in school administration and is forced to listen to it monthly at school board meetings (and had to do it daily while in school K-12).

    I have a friend that was the same away about McDonalds Chicken nuggets on the way home from the bars.

    She still apologizes to this day, lol.
