The worst part of AEW is the booking of womens division.

the second worst part of AEW is their insistence on wrestlemania length PPV’s on Sunday nights.

Also kudos to my buddy who bought this on Fite last month so I don't have to worry about PayPal freaking out over a VPN.

    Forbidden Door card is HERE

Analytics will eventually be available HERE

Man I'm sure most of the matches will deliver but the build to this ppv has been the shits and it lessens my excitement to watch it a lot. I know injuries are to blame for a lot of it, and they suck but still. I'm a much more casual New Japan watcher and while I obviously know the big names, there are so many guys on this card that make me say "Who?". And I'm sure conflicting schedules were a huge part of it but only having Okada on TV 1 week before the ppv is just a big oof. Way too short of a delay between DoN and this thing - you can't possibly hope to get 20 NJPW guys over on your show in 3-4 weeks.

Anyway, if you spot any errors or have any technical issues, let me know. By the time I got to the Buy In, I was just listing matches and picking winners because again there are 12 fucking matches on this PPV YET AGAIN on a Sunday fuck me.

As a long time Lithuanian citizen I dont have to worry about this!

Also doubly glad that my one-month Nord subscription is still good til tomorrow, so I got DoN and this for less than what a single event costs on B/R. And it'll actually work

You have it as Mox v CM Punk for the top match

I was not one of the people complaining about DoN length but I saw so damn much of it, and Tony got like 10 questions about it during the DoN post-show. Just love that the response was "I'll do it again"

This is acutally the correct model though, 3 pre-show matches, 9 on the main card. Means we could reasonably be done by 11:30 or so. DoN had 12 matches on the main card.

Especially since a lot of these are multi-man matches, they wont go as long either. Like Bucks v Dudes and Sex Gods v Mox's friends wont go the 20ish minutes of bucks/hardy and Anarchy in the Arena. Even OC/Ospreay probably doesnt run that long. We likely got a lot of fun, fast-paced 10min matches broken up by the 4-way matches going long

DoN was on a Sunday because of Memorial Day. I think All Out is Labor Day weekend. I’d imagine this is only a Sunday more for the New Japan crowd.

Oddly, looking back, Revolution has always been a Sunday PPV, yet Full Gear has always been a Saturday PPV.

DoN and All Out make sense as Sunday PPVs, but the other two (and one-offs like this) should be Saturdays

Well Sunday’s usually have less sports competition except Football Season. It makes sense. A lot of people go out on Saturday and there’s also Boxing/UFC stuff. I just wish the show started earlier. Start the actual PPV at 4 PT/7 EST and I think there would be less complaints.

Yeah, 9 matches on the main show is more reasonable than DoN's 12, some of which could had been on dynamite

I want to buy this but I’ve been out of the loop the last few weeks. And I’m not super familiar with NJPW. And from what I have seen it’s been very odd build like something WWE would do for a Saudi show

I want to buy this to support AEW working with NJPW and other promotions in general. This show is good for pro wrestling. I may not be super excited but I know it’ll deliver in the ring and a lot of the build being less than stellar is due to tons of injuries. I also feel like they rushed getting this show in because they wanted to have it happen before G1.

I think continually comparing forbidden door to a true blood money show is such a bad comparison. The build has been shit (by AEW standards), but the show itself is going to be great.
