“Blood” is a gem

 

i've listened three times. still not feeling "bad man."

 

I understand that. It's pretty by the numbers as far as what this era of Coheed is trying to sound like, and the lyrics sound like what a robot would write if you fed it every Coheed lyric up to this point.

 

The only song i really dont like on the album.

 

this is Chorus.fm, the minute a new album comes out we must immediately rank it against the rest of that band's discography, sorry I don't make the rules

 

Think this is the most I’ve connected with a Coheed record on first listen in a long time.

 

I love the direction they went in, reminds me a bit of No World for Tomorrow with how 80s-inspired it is

 

And then there’s Ladders of Supremacy which reminds me of Between the Buried and Me at points

 

Never been a huge Coheed fan besides a few songs, but this absolutely slaps. Banger after banger that goes all over the place. I need to do a deep dive into their discography though it’s rather intimidating haha

 

I honestly feel like this is such a good entry point for Coheed. It has all their trademark sounds with some new stuff sprinkled in the most succinct package. Welcome aboard! Glad to help you dive into the back catalog and make suggestions.

 

Um so I just put on my good headphones to listen to this and this thing is LAYERED. There's a ton of stuff going on, whether it's palm muted riffs, solos in the background of choruses (Bad Man? What the heck?), additional percussion, electronic flourishes, vocal harmonies, it's all there. Wild stuff. It's going to take a while to unpack all of it.

 

Please help it’s a tad overwhelming with how lengthy and exhausting some of there albums seem haha I’m definitely getting tickets to the tour with ALK3 now and hope they play plenty of this live.

 

What are your favorite songs off this so far? That will help making discog recommendations.

I'm a pretty casual fan, but I've listened to all (or most) of their albums at least once and this is definitely grabbing me more immediately. Might try to do a full run of their albums soon

 

I was a very casual fan for everything post IKS until early this year. I feel like i've listened to almost nothing but these guys since. Hooked.

 

Haven't really listened to Coheed since No World, aside from singles, just here to say I love this album, glad I checked it out

 

Oh my these last three tracks are everything!

 

Some heavy Dream Theater vibes in the last track. Loving this album so far.

 

I did a 7 hour road trip today and had a bunch of podcasts and stuff queued up but instead I just listened to this over and over again. It’s so good!
