I stopped watching after like a season and a half because I knew it would just make me nauseous

 

Yeah I watched the first few episodes and it just threw me into a rage spiral. Not good for my mental health

 

Ahh yes you must watch the Handmaid’s tale to see what dystopia is like, we aren’t currently living it or anything.

 

Once again seeing more outrage from the early-mid 20s crowd on Instagram via former students of mine that have found me on there. And yeah a lot of them are reposting Michelle Obama and Taylor Swift. I know it pisses people off in here but gonna have to accept that a lot of young women voters look up to them and embrace their thoughts and calls to action and i will take literally anything that gets young people involved

 

as if just standing there silent with a flower in our hands is going to make them rethink their decisions... "oh wow, they REALLY mean it! look at them down there! so peaceful and non-intimidating! guys... we made a mistake......."

 

jesus where to even begin with a person like that..

 

I'm from New England so, its very pro choice up here. I was raised to believe "My body, my choice" when it came to my reproductive system. 7 years ago I had an ectopic pregnancy and had no choice but terminate my pregnancy and get a D&C, remove my left ovary because there was a dermoid cyst on it, which put me into the biggest depression of my life (I was put on Zoloft for 3 fucking years) and then 3 months later I had an infected abscess in the area where they removed said ovary, had another operation to remove it, got hooked on pain meds (again) and then the next year I was told I could no longer have children.....and here I am, 38 and in pre-menopause, taking hormones to ward off hot flashes, night sweats and insomnia.

Its not just about banning abortion, its all the other shit we deal with when it comes to our bodies and our reproductive system. I wanted to take out my other ovary and my uterus 5 years ago but they said no (I have a different doctor now who is on team Julie) but still......Why the fuck do I even need these things if I cannot create or carry a pregnancy...its medically proven that I have no eggs and my tubes are blocked.

I get other peoples views and opinions, but I don't fucking agree with them.

yeah but I think the best strategy to do that is probably to keep the vitriol contained within leftist circles, and engaging those types in a more….friendly? Delicate? Idk the right word…way. Like I don’t think we’re convincing them into more leftward stances/seeing the problems with the half measure types like the Obama’s by leading off with a dunk on Michelle hah. But that’s a different discussion for a different day. I’m just happy any time i see the younger crowd engaged in left of center ways. Usually if they care enough to post about it on social media, they care enough to get involved in campaigns and activist causes or, at a minimum, voting in local elections that are so dominated by the over 50 crowd. Millennial and GenZ control can’t come soon enough.

It really sucks that there are people who eat this shit up and will call it “brave, bold, inspiring”.

 

not to worry, most leftist parties do keep the vitriol within their own circles and present a softer face when reaching out to the public.

but if you think it would change with a generational shift, without actual political education or qualitative change in political outlook, mannn.... they'll be sheepdogged back into liberalism and the dems.
