Dude I played a handful of hours last week and definitely was intrigued but kinda just put it on the backburner and started Persona, how far in have you gotten? I think I stopped at the start of chapter 3

I’m at the end of chapter 2 but took a little break from the story to walk around and deliver lost packages. I definitely want to see this game through to the end, but it might be something I take breaks from and come back to haha

 

Anyone check out Sonic Origins?

 

I was there when it was just called Sonic

 

The price of Sonic Origins is tough to justify even for someone like me. The Genesis Sonic games were basically what got me hooked on gaming and I havent owned a copy of them since those days.

 

I played Sonic 3 & Knuckles on the Genesis when it came out, with the original lock-on technology. Take that, nerds.

 

Supposedly you can use the OG cheat codes and unlock everything. Brings back memories of my Game Genie.

 

Got upgraded to the PS Plus Premium today and downloaded a whole bunch but realised I get Stray day one and it’s already worth it.

Also curious on the Ys games. Do they need to be played in any order or can I jump into either 8 or 9?

 

I've only played Ys games on and off and I've never completed one, but it's my understanding that even though they all usually feature the same main character, Adol, the games themselves are mostly self-contained. Usually he washes up on a new island and begins a new adventure with the inhabitants.

 

havent bothered reaching out to any of my former colleagues so cant corroborate

 

this game benefits from varying your party rather than sticking to a certain team, in my experience I think I used all the members equally

 

they're all self-contained. there is a technical chronological order that super fans have worked out but in my opinion there is no need to follow it at all.

Also the only YS games I finished were Ys VIII and Ys IV Memories of Celceta. Both are good to great action rpgs. I also played Ys IX and Ys Origins, both were super cheesy and unfun

 

As someone who has played one Ys game ((the newest)and didn’t finish it because not being able to catch one really dumb fish kept me from getting a platinum trophy so fuck that) the fact that this is a repeating plot is blowing my mind

Oh im for sure using everyone. I think the only I haven’t really touched is Ann since she seems like the weakest but I could probably find some way to get her involved.
