From what other people have pointed out about how the laws are written around what cops technically do and do not have to do, I don't think this guy is actually going to face any criminal charges - but I don't see how he or anyone else thinks he'll just be able to go about his business like everything is fine and continue working as the chief of the Uvalde School District police and/or as a City Councilman as more and more of the details come out.

 

As someone who survived doing Grubhub for 8 months in 2019, I feel for those drivers. I always tip drivers well, but it's already fucked because companies like Doordash subsidize the driver's pay based on the tip. So if I give $10 in tip, Doordash pays the driver less on their end, so they end up with as much as someone who tipped little to nothing. The driver would make more if I chose no tip in the app and gave them cash, but if a driver sees a low tip offered in-app, they're less likely to take the order in the first place. Not sure if it's still like that.

I hate how these companies treat their drivers in general. Doesn't help when the customers are also rude AF to drivers. That job made me so cynical and put me in a crappy mood all the time.
