Also fuck yeah. Circle 6 just announced a Detroit show and my buddy and I were able to snag free tickets!

 

I know no one asked but I only listen to the bri’ish wrestling pods. AE Podcast and Wrestle Me are v fun

 

I will say the build to Forbidden door has been lacking, but a majority of that can be attributed to injuries. It’s still weird to me that we are a day away from the go home show without announced matches for Jay White, Cole, Young Bucks, Naito, Okada etc. I’m sure everything will be cleared up tomorrow, but still a very abrupt build with nothing super strong.

Another gripe about AEW is booking the same markets over and over and over again. They have booked tons of NE, Chicago, Texas shows but have largely ignored the West Coast except for LA/LV. With the crazy success of Defy I’m hoping they maybe do Full Gear in Seattle. I almost feel like that would be a no brainer for a big show location.

 

I only watch OSW review and WOR clips on youtube.

 

No joke, AE Podcast is my all time favorite podcast. Can't tell you how any times I've relistened to them. Also loved their Kitchen Nightmares podcast.

 

Dante Martin and Sonny Kiss should switch spots. Sonny should be on TV every week having bangers and Martin should be the one regulated to Dark while he works out his kinks and develops a character.

I see potential in Dante Martin I just think he's still way too green for the current spot he's in. That's my unpopular AEW criticism.

 

Jarrett’s podcast is actually pretty great, but I’m assuming that’ll be curtailed by him working with WWE. Pritchards podcast was enjoyable until he went back to WWE, but quickly went downhill. I’ll concur that Alvarez is the best in the business and he’s definitely the reason I sign up for Wrestling observer.

 

They’re very entertaining and I’m even subbed to their patreon which has a ridiculous amount of content for £5 a month

 

I need to do that again. Worth it just for the Smackdown Crawl.

 

I've seen several reddit posts about the lack of western US shows and, according to those, it comes down to the logistics of moving all of their equipment from Jacksonville for maybe 1 or 2 shows in each location. Like WWE is a traveling circus and moves so much but AEW is really just Point A to Point B and back to Point A 2 days later.

It also seems like everything in the western US is just so far apart. I know people in the company I work for dread having a traveling position out west.

 

Lack of build is also due to New Japan not wanting to announce shit until Dominion was over. Thats just how they roll with everything thats announced before another big show they have.


I’m stoked for the PPV, and i’m happy its not all dream matches, its a super solid card. It will be a ton of fun and I guarantee there will be one next year and the card will be twice as good.

 

just be grateful we are getting an AEW NJPW PPV at all you freaks

 

This right here. Anyone's thoughts on the card aside, it's going to be a fun show. Granted this is from someone that doesn't care about build.
