anyone else remember playing Def Jam Fight For NY?
i miss that game. i wonder how hard it would be to get that ported, given all the copyright/music licensing involved

i often wonder what a sequel would look like! probably something that would involve rappers from all different labels for the mass appeal. would be hilarious to imagine some of todays rappers fighting in that game.

 

Man, I’d spend so many late nights playing that in high school. Without a doubt one of the best fighters in that console generation, like what other game can you pit Henry Rollins and Ice-T against each other in a death match?

 

Shantae update: got the last of the abilities! and unlocked the final map. so I'm pretty close to beating the game. There's something so satisfying about metroidvanias, going back to previous maps with newly acquired abilities to get things that were out of reach. This last ability added, not one, but three jumps to the jump chain, fucking wild.

 

Actually even then not all of them were Def Jam rappers I think

yup, Trejo was the boss fighter of one of the areas. and yeah, i don't think Method and Red were on DJ (could be wrong i don't know whom they've been signed to) nor Snoop

Are we talking early 2023 or early 2024 for Rebirth? The new Crisis Core is out "this winter", which I take to be early 2023, and rebirth "next winter", which in that case would be early 2024. But Kitase wrote in his message that it "will be released approximately three years after the original remake released in april 2020".

 

I don't want to do a player's log because my thoughts are still too scattered, but Ghost Song is basically Metroid Dread meets Hollow Knight. Literally
Is it as good as either? Only time will tell, but my god if it comes even remotely close this is a classic in the making...

Man, it’s been kinda funny watching people tie themselves in knots over OW2’s battle pass. Like y’all hated the loot boxes (despite getting free ones for playing) so much that they got rid of them and now you’re mad that OW is now doing what many other games are doing? Plus, I’ve yet to see anywhere that Blizzard is stating that you will have to buy heroes but that hasn’t stopped people from making wild assumptions about it.

 

def jam hinted it was coming back right before some big event and then they went completely Mia on it so I’m sad it’ll never come back

Player's Log: Chrono Trigger

Finally beat this game. Haven't tried since like 2013. Finished every sidequest, which I did not know would take me straight to Lavos after going through the boss gauntlet in the Black Omen. The final Lavos fight was fairly easy (since I charmed a bunch of Megalixirs from enemies in the final dungeon) but it was the form before that that took me two tries. Beat him with Chrono, Robo, and Ayla.

Got the standard Beyond Time ending. What's crazy is that it took maybe 20 hours. Very well-paced game with little to no lull/lag. Happy to have finally finished it.

truly struggling with what to play next. I usually try to play one game per system (DS, Vita, Switch are the main 3) and I've finished what I was playing on each system (Chrono Trigger, Atelier Sophie, Trials of Mana respectively).

still haven't touched the remastered FF9 I bought on sale months ago. Maybe that will hold me over until Live A Live. @Penlab I also have Lunar 2 on my Vita, should I play that one? I've only played the first one.

 

I am going to start a Person 5 Royal file tonight and prob play all weekend, just wanna thank King @CobraKidJon for the inspiration
