Obi-Wan has been hanging out with Yoda too much.

best ep yet, but only cuz its 2 stars and the rest are hovering in the 1 zone

I’m not feeling Disney Darth Vader at all. Feels like a pretty big misunderstanding of the character to me.

In the OT he’s scary because he’s so passive and threatening, not cuz he’s snapping necks at random. The choking people in Empire is played as a gag. That’s not what makes him a good villain, and the attempts here to portray him as brutal come across more laughable than menacing.

The quality of this show is like that of a PS1 cut scene

People love to throw around comparisons to PS1 games (not this specifically but in general) and I often wonder if people really remember what PS1 games were like.

Tbh, most of the takes in here are pretty boring.

at this point i don’t really trust them to deliver something satisfying that isn’t an original story as it all devolves to way too much fan service, so i’d rather them not give us a vader series

Yeah, I take it back. I watched the Shadows Of The Empire cut scenes and it’s more interesting than this show

My non boring take is that even as a Star Wars fan I can admit that 75% of Star Wars content sucks.

Isn’t that the fun of star wars?

In the 90’s i feel like the bonding experience among kids was lovingly mocking how ridiculous star wars is. A thing everyone has an almost religious relationship with, that’s so good and really thoughtful, and also so perfectly stupid

Some of you clearly had a different experience growing up with Star Wars than I did...

I mean I didn’t mock the original trilogy growing up. I thought it ruled.

That’s completely different than most Star Wars content being straight up bad/unwatchable.

Holy shit, Shadows of the Empire is such a blast from the past!!! Absolutely loved that game! Spent far too many hours playing it. Might have been my favorite N64 game.

I remember Shadows Of The Empire being like this really weird event where they put out the game, a book, and a comic all at the same time, like it was this really significant addition to the franchise.

i believe internally, Lucas Arts conceived of the Shadows Of The Empire era as an episode in the saga without a film. All of the extra stuff that would have surrounded a new moive except no movie

  24. The book is incredible but of course it's no longer canon.

The game is equally incredible. Dash Rendar the GOAT.

At the beginning of the pandemic i bought all the N64 Star Wars games:

    Rogue Squadron is 10/10 obviously

    Don’t care about Pod Racer

Battle For Naboo is a dark horse, really good sorta sequel to Rogue Squadron. I don’t like it as much cuz I like x wings more than naboo starfighters, but the gameplay is really smooth

Shadows Of The Empire is frustrating. Very very very cool, but it’s a not very fun mess of a game
