i don't blame them for choosing that path, but i also don't feel bad for them getting some hate online for it. the money can heal their wounds i'm sure.

 

Oh okay that was quite a surprise. I don't know what reinvigorated them, but it's refreshing to finally hear some memorable riffs in their music again. I wouldn't say it's anything special as it sounds like a bside from the Soundtrack To Your Escape or Come Clarity days to my ears, but I'd take this over what they've been doing for the past decade.

Let's keep that energy for an entire album now.

 

"In Flames Redemption Arc" was not in my 2022 bingo checklist I won't lie

 

Oh duh. I'd already forgotten that the name was Fugitive.

 

I don't hate the new Parkway Drive single. I don't like it either, but, I don't hate it. Granted I mostly enjoyed their last two albums so there's that.

The new In Flames track is a pleasant surprise though. Obviously it's nowhere near the quality of something off of Whoracle or Colony or even Clayman, but it's a big step back on track. They sound reinvigorated.

The White stamp of approval

 

It’s a very good album. It’s a nice intersection of post metal and Blackgaze(yes more of that). I could do without the spoken word interludes but that’s just me. Although, I heard the vinyl doesn’t have them. Fun fact: one of the guys from Holy Fawn was in the band for a bit.

 

This sounds highly questionable out of context.

lol yeah those are kinda massively cheesy, but at least they're relegated to said interludes instead of parts of actual songs (with like one exception I think).

Definitely, but I like the shift it takes at about 2:30

 

I was reading a press release and the band pretty much never makes the same album twice so that is on point for them to mix it up mid song.

 

quietly one of the more underrated and consistent grind acts out there for the last 15-20 years. i really need to give them a deep dive at some point and still need to get a chance to see them live.

 

Love everything about this song and video.

 

Technically hardcore but they added some sludge and Mastodon grooves so I’m sure someone will enjoy it.
