Man I wish they pushed Nowhere Gen harder and played more of it live. I really liked it. Loved it even. To me their best since Appeal....

Excited to listen to this tomorrow though for sure!

(Play Sudden Urge on Sirius' Octane leading into July you COWARDS!)

Shipping for the vinyl cost almost as much as the vinyl itself

    In order:

    - release a video for Talking to Ourselves that links to a series of teases of new material
    - release one tease a week for 5 weeks
    - go silent for a month
    - post about a year of Nowhere Generation, don't mention the new material
    - surprise drop new single on Tuesday
    - fans work out it's a new EP coming out July 15th
    - Tim posts a story indicating the EP is dropping at midnight Friday
    - EP is out

"We wrote sixteen songs for what would become Nowhere Generation (released a year ago this month). But we saved these five for a time when the world would start humming again.

Finally touring internationally now after an extended absence, we’re ready to unveil them to you today. Sing, dance, and hum along to:

    NOWHERE GENERATION II"

makes it sound like it was originally a 16 song album but they decided to cut theses 5 songs

Second listen through this morning. The EP rips. Such great editions to this era. Can’t complain much about inspired hard rock punk songs. One thing this band never lacks is inspiration and it’s amazing.

And to be honest...I wish we got 5 more songs with these because this could totally pass as the sibling to Appeal To Reason haha.

Not even one thing about this is weird or strange at all

  15. This EP is a great addition to their discography. I'm only so so on Last Man Standing because it veers more towards their blander hard rock side, making it sound like Rise Against on autopilot, but the rest was totally worthy of making it onto the original album. Out of the 5, Holding Patterns feels like the one that could become a fan favorite.

The Answer and Holding Patterns are two top-tier RA tracks imo.

They should re-record Wolves with Bill.

I am just here to pile more love onto the Nowhere Generation era of RA, both the album & ep are awesome.

Also throwing some love to The Unraveling, which I feel doesn't get much love on these forums.

When I first started a band, all I wanted for us was to write stuff like what’s on The Unraveling.

Also, fun fact, my college Spanish professor, Mass Giordini, produced that album. He’s got a quite extensive work history with other bands too.

Just relistening to Sufferer and I had forgotten how beautiful the album is.

I'd say it's the peak of their softer, more emotional side*, especially in Tim's lyrics. The angels line in The Good Left Undone is an all-timer, and I'd kill for them to experiment like they did on The Approaching Curve again.

*With RPM probably the peak of their angrier side, polishing everything they did on Unraveling to a mirror shine

    "All because of you
    I believe in angels
    Not the kind with wings
No, not the kind with halos
The kind that bring you home
When home becomes a strange place
    I'll follow your voice
All you have to do is shout it out"

I used this text when I proposed to my wife. It still makes me cry to say it out loud. It's devastatingly beautiful.
