The NL East is really bad and it's nice to see the Mets actually take advantage of it for once

 

winning the division is the only goal. it honestly doesnt matter if they get swept by the dodgers, when they have to play them again in october they'll be a different team with jake and max back. their lead going into tomorrow is going to be like 11 or 12 games. the best possible situation going into a 10 game stretch where at you could realistically be happy going 5/5.

Yep, and barring a complete collapse (always a possibility with the Mets!), it's hard to see them not winning the division with the lead they've gotten off to. Even .500 ball the rest of the way, which would get them to 90 wins, should do it with some breathing room. Is it possible to actually have a relaxing season with this team where the division is never in doubt after the end of May? Before the season, I wouldn't quite believe it, but now it looks like the most likely scenario

 

i'll take it week by week but, being a positive thinking Mets fan on June 1st is not a familiar feeling
