That song he put out was awesome too, I think it was called "Wretched Heart"?

I love that song, and “Underground”. I love the vibes of both of those.

Wretched Heart is one of my favorite songs WRK has been a part of. So good.

Ocean Avenue is a great album but I’d still prefer to hear songs from across the discography since there is so many damn good songs! Especially after being away for so long. I suppose they’re going this route to attract more of the general audience/casual fans that’ll be there though.

I mean this is a festival set, not a headliner. Playing their most well known album and then other classics will surely please the crowd more than a more diverse set.

Would prefer a more diverse set (if I was being really greedy, of the most obscure songs never played before), but, considering I don't really go to festivals and didn't know how long the sets are, I'm just glad that it's going to be more than 30-40 minute set

I hope they discuss if new music is even an option at some point. I’m not going to Festivals, but I do think it’s cool they are playing some big shows. When the band ended, we had an album to go out on with them so there is no real complaint there. I’d just be curious if this is just a opportunity for YC to get together, have fun, do shows for fans and hopefully have a decent pay day as well. Totally a fine option if they want. But, I wonder if the idea of recording something, even a single is possible, or even hd a glimmer of hope if the shows go well. WRK/Mendez still work together lots, so if the other guys wanna do something if/when the time is right, I think most bands would be pumped. I get there are “other factors” like families and other projects in the go. Just curious if it’s even in the cards.

John Mayer posted on Instagram today regarding the 10 year anniversary of “Born and Raised” - perhaps my favorite from his ridiculously good career.

One message stuck out to me, though, which reminded me so much of “Lift A Sail” and how that record has grown on me over the years:

“The fact that this record has grown over the years in terms of peoples connection with it is hardcore proof that you shouldn’t always make art for the moment you’re releasing it in. Release week is one small fraction in an albums life span, and sometimes it’s worth making a statement that blooms over time.”

I can only imagine this is how the band felt about Lift A Sail - and boy were they right. What an awesome, awesome record. Quickly becoming one of my Yellowcard favorites and continues to grow on me as time goes on.

    Fun stream.

Ryan says he's going do a discog run through so basically every week he'll listen through and gives thoughts/stories on the album.

During OFTK he talked a lot about the early days and how it was recorded and song origins.

Underdog EP is not on streaming since it's tied up in licensing issues between Capitol and Fueled By Ramen since it's not clear who would get revenue for the songs.

I never realized how much Rocket was inspired by Jimmy Eat World.

I definitely recommend subbing to check out the VOD if you're big into Yellowcard. (the VOD is public currently not sure if it will stay like that)
