Checked the leak out, way too mushy sounding for my tastes. No thank you. The wait continues

This is a lot to take in, and is challenging as a fan for the first time in a long time. As much as I loved Vaxis, that one felt like them really nailing the sound they were working towards since YOTBR. This, on the other hand, is a huge step forward.

We reach for the longest shadow

Completely agree. Vaxis I felt like a celebration of everything they’ve done up to that point. This is treading new ground for the first time in a while.

    It's my mum's dodge caravan

Thrice, Coheed and Touche Amore touring together later this year in the UK and Europe and I am in pieces, best lineup I’ve ever seen oh my god

Damn you guys eating. I’m personally happier with DGD but can’t argue with that

The first half stretch of Beautiful Loser->Love Murder One is so so good.
Specifically A Disappearing Act->Love Murder one....just inject in my veins over and over again. What a blast.

That said, As much as I like this album, I'm hoping the next one is more Vaxis I than Vaxis II. I think thats them at their best.

Yeah I do feel like Blood through Our Love is the breather portion of the album, but that’s just because everything from Beautiful Losers to Love Murder One hits so hard. It’s a welcome break though, especially before the last 3 tracks.

Minor quibble for those who have heard: Anyone think Cut the Chord and Ladders should be swapped in the track sequencing?

    No Fun. Not Ever.

Coheed and Touche was not a lineup I knew I needed. Sucks I'm not over there.

Coheed, Moving Mountains, and Pianos Become the Teeth might be my favorite lineup I've seen them with. That lineup is similarly good.

    No Fun. Not Ever.

First time I saw them was with Between the Buried and Me and Russian Circles and that's still the best lineup I've seen live.

I don’t think those should be swapped but think Beautiful Losers should come after Shoulder, rather than being track 2

I’m getting Marianas Trench vibes from this record lol. Certainly more theatrical than before

Ah yeah I saw that lineup too, it was awesome. Whoever helps them with openers has a knack for picking incredible bands.

Yeah i do like BL the song but either comotose or shoulder i think would fare better as the de facto opener.

Of sugar and ice I am made

My favorite Coheed lineup I've seen was with Dredg, mewithoutYou, and The Blood Brothers.
