  1. I just had my best StS run ever. 15 cards in my deck, five of which were upgraded Pressure Points, won in 30 minutes.

    Player's Log: Danganronpa 2.

Got the achievement for completing a trial without taking damage, and God was it awful.

I chose to redo the first trial to get this achievement, making sure to save at key points in the trial so as not to redo the entire thing when I fucked up.

The hardest part IMO is this one minigame called Hangman's Gambit. You're given blanks that represent a word or phrase and have to fill in the letters.

In the first game, all that was required was for you to shoot the right letters when you saw them and fill in the blanks.

In this game, instead you have letters coming from opposite sides of the screen. When you shoot a letter, this "catches" it, and then firing again "releases" it.

When two of the same letter collide, they combine into one letter, which is what you're trying to do. You can then shoot this letter with A to destroy it, or Y to send it to the blank. But if two different letters collide, they explode, and you'll take damage. Same if you send the wrong letter to the blank.

So anyway, this gets somewhat frenzied as you fight to keep letters from colliding and exploding.

The worst is that some letters fly at different speeds than others, so it's entirely possible for a letter to appear on the screen, and another to come immediately behind it and crash into it, fucking you over, so you're forced to grab letters ASAP to prevent that.

I had to repeat this maybe 10 times before I finally finished it without fucking up. I had to do this minigame twice during the trial. Fucking pain in my ass, but I did it.

They have moments of legitimate greatness and then veer left into complete trash and then swing back around. It's wild.

One thing about Danganronpa that strikes me as admirable and annoying in equal measure is the fact that a lot of what the game involves seems deliberately intended to try to elevate the game beyond the visual novel genre.

Like, all the minigames during the trials to actionify the situation, instead of letting me just sit back and relax and select answers Ace Attorney style.

Or the pet raising minigame, which doesn't really seem to serve any purpose other than presenting another collectible to earn Monokuma coins and additional skills for the Trial.

Or this other minigame I've found on the home screen involving Monomi, where I have to spin around enemies on an island to defeat them and earn treasure.

Like, it adds to the overall package, but they're all so disconnected from the main point of the game, which is about solving the fucking mystery. That's what I came here for. It's like the game thinks if it's just a visual novel, I won't be interested anymore. It's weird.

That's not to say it's not fun, cause it is. I'd just be interested to know how they reached that conclusion in their game design.

Out of all the EA Star Wars games, Jedi: Fallen Order is the best one. Who’s ever idea it was to do a three-way hybrid of Uncharted, Dark Souls, and Metroidvania that was raised on Star Wars was a true galaxy brain. Squadrons is second best.

It’s like the exact kind of game The Force Unleashed games wanted to be, the perfect blend of structured story telling with cool combat and elaborate set pieces. Hopefully we see a peek at the new one in the near future.

Anyway, this puts me halfway through the game, and it's impressive how everyone keeps trying to out-crazy each other.

What's taking so long? Either it's a huge update or the just want to release it around the same time as the next season of the tv-series.

they took the project back from the developer they have initially hired and are now doing it in house. I think they're adding Raytracing?

Series S outsold PS5 for one week most likely due to supply shortages lol

The PS5 has had fairly consistent supply drops in the UK over the last few weeks. Wouldn't be surprised if they'd diverted some supply from Asia/ Japan to up the supply in Europe, which would lead to the above.
