There is absolutely no way this is worse than Age Of Ultron. That movie is borderline unwatchable if we’re talking script and direction.

 

yeah, i can probably think of at least half a dozen from phases 3&4 alone i'd rate lower than this

 

Two things.

One, wasn't Scarlet Witch putting a spell together to take America's powers? So we don't know how long the preparations for that spell take.

Two, do we know that the same amount of time passed for Strange in one universe as it did for Wanda and America in the other universe?

 

I really liked this movie.

 

Great movie, tbh. Think I have it at #5 in my MCU ranking honestly.

 

In the opening scene strange was ready to snatch her power in a second with no prep.

 

I can't believe people are rating this highly.

 

Which ones?

This isn't a judgement I'm just curious.

I'd have to look at my rankings again, but the only ones I would consider to be worse/on the same level of bad as this one are Thor, Thor 2, and Captain Marvel and Age of Ultron.

 

Yeah, but I think it was also established both that the Strange in the opening scene is more powerful than the 616 Strange and also that witchcraft is different than sorcery.

 

well, there's black widow and eternals (and i still maintain is better than i was lead to think) as far as phase 4 goes. and i remember having a fairly worse first impression of the original doctor strange than this, too. feel confident in putting captain marvel and AM&TW below it too. infinity war maybe a little bit worse, and i'd likely say far from home with another go at it. not judgment on my end either, fwiw

again, i'm excluding phase 1+2

 

Just off the top of my head from phases 3 and 4, I'd probably put the first Doctor Strange, Ant-Man and the Wasp, Captain Marvel, FFH, Black Widow, and Eternals below it

 

Black Widow was so much better than this. At least it made sense and wasn't just 70% fan service and terrible dialogue.

 

Out of phase 4 alone, this is either my favorite of the movies or second favorite. My top 2 are this and Shang-Chi, then No Way Home, then a big dip down to either Eternals or Black Widow. The shows mostly fit in that big dip. I definitely enjoy movies more than tv, but they’re also different to me so comparing them like this feels weird, but I did make a list the other day that I vaguely remember resembled what I described.

 

Age of Ultron, Eternals, Guardians 2 are almost certainly worse than this.

And you're right, Guardians 2 sucks.

 

Guardians 2 isn’t great but the yondu ending was good. First time a marvel movie had any sense of emotion that I can recall.

 

The Yondu ending was good, but that couldn't make up for the horrible stuff like that giant Pac-Man

 

Guardians 2 is a top tier Marvel movie

bottom 5 mcu for me is ant man and the wasp, gotg 2, iron man 2, hulk and thor 2.

 

I haven’t ranked them all since I marathoned them for Endgame. At that time I had Ironman 3, Thor, Ironman 2, The Incredible Hulk, and bottom of the barrel is, of course, Thor: The Dark World.

if I ranked it including Phase 4, ETERNALS might make the list.

 

both that and this are bad films but not in the bottom 10 mcu, which is more indicative of these movies as a whole than it is praising this one

 

Do not expand the list to 10 it's a real slippery slope to entire MCU rankings from there
