Well, then they've missed the mark a lot lately.

If you're talking about "good", not gonna get into that because that's bait.

If you're talking about "comic-accurate", I'm curious what you're thinking of, cause I think they've done a fairly good job of that even now.

America was cast terribly, she can't even act, Richards was done poorly, Eternals, etc. They're just a mess right now.

I actually really enjoyed the Eternals haha. I was also high af when I watched it, though.

I thought America was fine. She was good with what she was given. Sadly, all she really got was screaming and exposition.

I'll be honest, I'm surprised being high enhanced it for you. I was more bored watching it high than I was watching it sober

I want everything for Glenn but I don't want anything getting in the way of the podcast. It's my favorite thing I listen to all week.

America was easily my second favorite character in this movie. I get why people view her role as a glorified plot devise, but I thought she was a very charming kid with a lot of heart. I liked how she fit into this adventure full of powerful people who think they know best and/or are willing to make dubious sacrifices.

I mean, plot wise, sure, but poor acting is too distracting for me

No, I just don't like some things. Not everyone has to like the same things. I think this is one of the worst movies Marvel has ever done.

I think Black Widow is better.

This wouldn’t even land in like the 10 worst movies the MCU has done.

Sorry, I'm not trying to get on your case, and I'm not lying when I say I legitimately can't tell when you're being honest or doing a bit.

Me personally, I didn't dislike either movie, but Black Widow in retrospect feels a lot more forgettable to me. And I have my own issues with how Black Widow was handled.

I'd put Black Widow in the same tier as Thor, Dark World, and The Incredible Hulk. I'm sure that sounds like I'm damning it, but bear in mind I think the worst MCU movie is still pretty watchable entertainment, so...

I'd put this movie probably in the same tier as the first Dr. Strange, frankly. It's not ultra tier but it's not bottom tier either. It's fun, enjoyable, etc.

If I had to pick any bone with the movie, it's probably that I wish that they made it clearer that Wanda's actions were because of the Darkhold.

I can understand maybe not giving a redemption arc in this movie, and I wasn't dissatisfied with how things got resolved, but I like Wanda's character and wouldn't want her character completely assassinated. I don't think they struck as much of a balance as I wanted. That's the only thing.

The worst MCU film for me is still Thor: The Dark World

This is probably in my top 25% of Marvel Studios films, though the real test will be if I find myself thinking about rewatching it over a year later and then still finding it fun. Which, the list of their films in that category for me is pretty short at this point!

Maybe I’ll give it an honorary #6 for now (behind the two Guardians films, Ragnarok, Black Panther, & Iron Man 3). Certainly scratches a nice range of itches I have when it comes to the superhero genre. Biggest roadblock it has is that I don’t actually care that much about Strange himself, lol, but this did build just about the best adventure you could with him at the center! I just, unfortunately, don’t have any interest in another film centered on him. (So, if that ends up being Raimi’s next film, that’ll suck.)

It's really not. It was all over the place, the backstory/plot with America was shallow as heck, horribly forced scenes of nonsense like when they're running from Scarlett Witch in the tunnel and then turn around and it just does 25 seconds of slow motion of them waiting for her to pop out or like when they're throwing music notes at each other or when he takes over his own dead body to go fight her.

Also, why wouldn't SW have taken America's powers in the time it took him to fight evil strange, go through the trance, take over his own dead body and then make it all the way to her in the mountains? This movie was bizarre and felt like it was a TV movie with how bad the plot was.

This is one of those movies where I feel like I have to split the difference as far as my feelings on it go cause the performances and visuals were great, but the script and story were probably near the bottom for the MCU IMO
