I just cannot believe how far this exceeded what my expectations were for new music from them.

 

Same here! Kept my expectations pretty low but this is legit :)

 

Fuck this rips!! The aggressivity as well as the amount of screams took me by surprise, it sounds like it has the best elements of almost all their releases, making this feel akin to classic MCR, while still managing to sound fresh. If they've been sitting on this since 2019, who knows what else they have in store for us.

Also, I love how this thread instantly blew up. Took me back to the ap.net days. I had missed this kind of fanfare around here. Now I'm about to catch up!

 

Listened to it four times on my drive and man did I get emotional listening to this. I was kinda worried about them potentially putting out music I didn't fully connect with or that was just average but I love it so much. This definitely feels like a new song from my favourite band, I've missed that feeling.

 

I was definitely hoping for new music when the shows finally started which was the hardest part of everything being delayed, I'm so glad it's finally here. I really hope there's an album coming later this year. This is already one of my favourite songs in years.

Jarrod Alexander is basically their drummer now, he did the last few MCR tours, the reunion show and the drums for Gerard's solo stuff and shows too I believe.

 

I thought that I had made peace with not being able to see them next weekend, but then this song dropped. Fuck this. Now I'm sad. They're playing Stockholm in June but it's a four hour drive away on a Tuesday so I probably won't be able to go to that one either.

 

I'm going to go so hard when I see them I might actually pass out lol.
