Yeah it sounds like meaningless buzzwordy marketing speak to me. Not that he's being intentionally deceptive, but he's trying to promote a festival that just went on sale today, of course anything they do between now and the festival is going to be "big" and "exciting".

OR! There is a lurker on here... (I tried to find a GIF of Leo screaming he wasn't a cop in The Departed, but I couldn't)

I think the addition of 30 bands or so is what's going to happen. That would make the most sense and explain why this costs the same as Lollapalooza and basically Bonnaroo.

I think there’s other reasons like inflation, the state of being a touring musician after the pandemic, etc. that explain it.

Also consider that there are two acts on there that they basically get for free - Treaty of Paris and Lucky Boys Confusion.

If the price hike was because of this new idea, I would think maybe mentioning something would have been a good idea.

True but "early bird" tickets were like $160 around 3-4 months ago, and now they are double.. even with inflation, etc.. that's still crazy when tickets last year were $200 ish after the full lineup was announced

And, to be completely serious for second, I do think they’d be good to pay the acts more after everything. If that was the main reason, be forward with it and I won’t balk at the price increase in comparison to Lolla and Pitchfork.

Lolla has 3-days for 330 all in, 4-days for 350 before fees.
Pitchfork is 200 for 3-days and is arguably underpriced for what it is.

    I prefer "Document", "Document (1)", "Document (2)", "Document (2) (1)".

So the second was just switching Less Than Jake's day? Bullshit. I want a refund.

    Yeah, I can’t explain that.

re: price hike, it should also be noted this is the first time ever(?) RF has three legitimate arena sized headliners. That's gotta cost a lot more than booking Flaming Lips or QotSA to headline again.

but when MCR & the misfits were announced, it was just $160.. and both of those bands have a bigger guarantee than NIN

I mean even in the most basic business practices, if you increase the price of your product 100%.. you should have the decency to explain why

NIN is not an arena act on their own anymore. Theater for sure. I can’t recall where the Misfits last played in Chicago.

NIN is playing sold out amphitheaters on their current tour.. I think because they tour less than usual has upped their stock

I would agree with this. If they were regularly touring they’d be playing much smaller places. They’re also highly selective for where they play now, too.

its being bandied about that the mysterious LS Dunes will be a new side project from Anthony Green. he posted the line up on IG and tagged only their newly made page, and someone says the logo on their IG looks like a tattoo he has. i can confirm the first piece of evidence, but not the 2nd.

I mean... That's how NIN has toured for at least a decade. And it's worked real well for their draw. Their shows sell out incredibly fast.

Let's also not act like NIN wasn't a huge factor in Sunday being the lone day to sell out last year.

Love seeing the q101 logo on the bottom for a Sponsor. Missed that logo so much

I hope they get better security this time after the CM Punk incident last year. I wonder if they will add Eve 6 to the list of banned items.

    It's chaos. Be kind. Prestigious

Not sure how everyone feels, but I kind of love this lineup because there's a lot of bands I want to see, but very few bands where I feel inclined to watch the entire length of the set. I feel like the only band on this lineup where I feel the need to watch all of the set is The Wonder Years because they're my favorite band - there's a lot of others on here where I could watch 20-30 minutes of a 60-90 minute set and feel fine because I've either seen them upwards of 5-10 times, or I'm not super invested in committing to an entire set.

Tl;dr I like that I'll probably be able to see most of who I want and not feel bad.

Yeah, there's plenty of bands I want to see but most I'd be fine to leave a few songs early or even split sets. It's kind of perfect, TBH.

But similarly, there's a bunch I would gladly sit and watch the entire time. I am a little concerned about certain potential for overlap already but... That always sorts itself out.

Saturday is really stacked for me. Im really stressing about the possible overlap between Misfits, Yellowcard, Bauhaus and SDRE. Also between Alexisonfire, Movements and The Menzingers
