Gotta think they're a lock. Hope they do a mini WWWY fest Sunday with them, Paramore, Hidden in Plain View, Starting Line and a couple others.

I think someone broke it down the other day (maybe you, @alkalinexandy?) but we get excited, then immediately a bit let down, then get excited for the second wave, then are placated a bit and then over the next four months the excitement builds again.

    Strong advice!

It was @domotime2 who broke down the whole thing and it was pretty accurate haha.

Oh shit! I just realized they're putting up 1, 2, and 3 day passes for sale today so we should know day by days today!

That would be nice. But highly unlikely. Haha.

Of all the bigger festivals: Riot has the best record for a lack of leaks.

Right?!! That kinda just slipped right under the radar somehow. Haha.

Looks like Death Cab is out. Chicago show a week after the festival

I saw this and was honestly shocked… now more anticipation… I really believe they will withhold the third headliner.

Any idea how fast tickets go once the full lineup is announced?

I've only seen the festival ever fully sell out once I think? It's uncommon, plus there's a lot of tickets that go on sale on the secondary market.

Generally pretty slow. This isn't the kind of festival that generally "sells out."

Single day tickets this year might be a different story. Particularly for Friday.

Id say pretty quickly based on the MCR headline show prices, but every year you can usually get a ticket for face value, if not less than, the week or two before.

My guess is Friday tickets will move pretty quickly along with 3-day passes. But I doubt they will sell out of either today. Just a guess.

Curious as to everyone's thoughts of why they mostly release the lineup on a Wednesday... I guess because no one else does & they do whatever the fuck they want?

Lolla typically releases on a Tuesday IIRC. There’s no defined good reason why.

I do think they’d do well to not announce it so far out, tough.

There's a whole business world subset that does research on the best time for messaging/being paid attention to. Tuesday and Wednesday are typically the sweet spots with the most people at work, but not overwhelmed at work like a Monday or end of week day. I imagine the same rule applies for announcements like this.

Wednesdays seem to be lighter days in terms of tour announcements compared to Monday/Tuesday. And when the festival was in its early days - Tuesdays were music release days, so those were always pretty crowded news days.

The demo is also a bit older than most other festivals (e.g., focus is more on 25+ rather than most festivals that lean into the college crowd) so priming them during the work week and then announcing/releasing makes sense. People will be at their jobs or whatever and probably more likely to be checking the Internet for stuff versus a Sunday afternoon.

That's my read on it, anyway. Not sure how accurate any of that actually is. LOL

And most people get paid on Friday so it gives them a few days to plan finances I guess too?
