Songs are great from this band and Neal helped craft the Yellowcard sound. I love that they worked with him as producer on so many records and he stayed involved and I believed mentor the guys production wise. I also love that Ryan and possibly other bands members have acknowledge Neal’s contributions.

If you find a good producer, don’t be afraid to stick with them bands.

 

People are “hungry” when they can get excited for fonts

That album has consistently grown on me year after year. It’s not my favorite record but it’s absolutely up there. It’s such a good, full listen. Fragile and Dear has become one of my favorites.

Been a fan of LaS since day 1. They do have records that I like more, but this one gets lots of listens still.

 

Sean being apart of this makes my excitement for whatever this is soar. I’m so stoked that these guys are seemingly doing this together. @williamryankey - happy for you guys and I’m here to support it!

 

Lift a Sail is a beautiful album. Always has been. The whole soundscape is amazing.

 

Echoing this. Whatever this is, I am so glad it’s happening. I just had a whole conversation last weekend with my girlfriend about how grateful we are for this band. Whatever it is they are doing, i’m just happy be here for it.

 

Agreed. The fact we routinely post in this thread, and have new stuff to talk about is nice…whatever it may be.

 

Re-watching some old shows just made me remember how special of a place this band holds in my whole life. The soundtrack to so many moments - happy, sad, everything in between.

The opportunity to hear new stuff, or watch them play again, would be something i’d be incredibly grateful for. Just thinking about either of those things is so exciting.

 

I think Paper Walls will always be my favorite, but I definitely have come back to Lift a Sail by far the most since they broke up.

 

The final album has way too many good songs to be slept on

 

I have wondered for years how their sound would have matured after that record. They were really hitting their stride. I love that entire record front to back.

 

I’ve found them to be pretty mature lyrically and musically since Ocean Ave. They’ve covered a lots of serious topics about love, loss and life for years.

I know the band and others could point to moments of immaturity as a group of guys who exploded in a scene that was buzzing at the time. But, the maturity going from One For The Kids to Ocean Ave had me. Back Home is such a huge song to me. The greatness of their music had a nice healthy run, even with the hiatus in there.

 

Agreed. Lights and Sounds is one of my favorite records of all time and I think it deals with some really complicated stuff very well.

 

I know I’ve said this before, but it’s amazing how the band put out so many great records with a certain degree of dysfunction (based on what has been said into interviews). You can feel they really put their hearts into making good records. That’s not easy to do when distractions are present. And compliments to them for finding the time somehow to do a couple acoustic versions of records. It’d be cool if that the chance to more of the records that way, but the fact we got any is still pretty rad.

It's actually crazy how their sound and feel completely changed with Nate on the drums. Any other drummer and that album wouldn't be what it was.

 

Just seeing all of this! Amazing. I also just started listening to William Ryan Key’s solo stuff. That latest EP is so fucking good! Let’s see if he does anymore teasing on Meet The Maker. How does the man find time to do anything with how much moving he does!?

 

Have you heard the rest of their albums?

 

I know I make that post once every quarter but I can't miss another opportunity to say Lift A Sail and Yellowcard are their best works. If this teasing leads to a reunion with new music, I'd be thrilled to hear them take their sound even further towards uncharted territory.

 

This band will always be my favorite band, whatever happens. The emotional weight of the songs, the structures, guitarwork, lyrics and melodies were always on a completely different level than any other band in the "scene".

 

I still remember the time I downloaded the Underdog EP off an old mIRC server by chance way back in the day, all because I liked the band’s name, and the .doc described it as “pop punk with a violin!” Immediately fell in love and never looked back. Super important and transformative band for me.
