    are we having fun yet?

Blair Witch was great. really continued the mythology of the first film, and used jump scares in a way that wasn't super hacky. genuinely scared the shit out of me.

  2. Nice to hear praise for it in here. Showing my friend the original this weekend before we go see it on Tues. 4 days seems so far away!

Anybody watch the Wolf Creek TV series? Best female lead I've seen in a long time.

There's a Wolf Creek TV series?

Yep, 6 episodes and it's phenomenal. More of a thriller drama with horror elements.

Awesome, gonna check it out! I remember really enjoying the movie. What channel is it on?

So upset. Went to catch a morning viewing of Blair Witch today, but there was a crew just outside the exit door working on the sidewalk with a wet saw. Ruined the entire experience. Stayed for about half the film before throwing in the towel. Watching 31 at home now..

That sounds literally awful, and I agree I hope you got a refund.

Also, does this mean 31 is available on vod?

My ticket was 5 bucks so they just gave me 2 free tickets for a future film of choice. I won't try Blair Witch again, unfortunately the magic is now lost for me.

31 isn't on VOD that I know of. Gotta love Kodi. It's pretty fun so far.

saw blair witch and 31 today, neither of them impressed me greatly. Liked Blair Witch more than I was expecting but still not that much and liked 31 way less than I was expecting.

The freeze frames every 5 minutes was just... too stupid...

Not sure what Kodi is but interesting.

Also, just got back from seeing Blair Witch, thought it was pretty good, got very tense towards the end but I fucking hate that they showed the witch but aside from that I actually enjoyed what they did with it.

  13. Just watched Reanimator for the first time, seeing Blair Witch tonight and probably renting 31 afterwards, v excited

Anyone in here watch the movie Friend Request? I just finished it and it felt way too much like Unfriended to me, but some of it was somewhat decent.

  16. I ended up seeing Don't Breathe instead of Blair Witch, and oh my god it was so good. Part morality tale, part shock film. Very original and thought-provoking. Fede Alvarez rules.

Fede is fantastic. Can't wait to see what he has to offer in the future, horror or otherwise.

still want him to do a sequel to his Evil Dead remake where they make it just like the original Evil Dead 2 where it's pretty much the same but more ridiculous

I just got back from seeing Blair Witch and have to go on a bit of a rant. Sorry everyone...

So my friends and I decided to kick off our annual horror watch season by going to see Blair Witch together. Despite the negative reviews, we were all still very excited to see the movie.

Minutes before it starts, a man walks in with his grandchildren, who both could not be older than 10. My initial thought - why are you taking these kids to see this movie?

So the movie starts. These kids are being rather chatty and rustling around with some bag. It's annoying but somewhat bearable. The movie goes on and I am quite enjoying myself. Then, we hit the third act which from this community's comments I was very excited for.

THESE KIDS ESCALATE THE TALKING TO A RIDICULOUS LEVEL. Even grandpa is joining in. They start having a full conversation about god knows what as the climax kicks into gear. I could not even focus on the movie for the last 20 minutes because of how obnoxious these people were being. I wish I wasn't such a pushover, as it would have been perfectly in line for me to ask for them to be quiet.

I wish I could say how I feel about the movie, but I honestly can't. The entire ambiance and mood was completely spoiled and I barely registered any of the ending because I was sitting there in complete anger. Please please please, do not take kids to a movie that is not appropriate for them. Do not set the example as an adult that it is ok to be chatting away when other people have spent their time and money to enjoy an experience. Maybe I'll watch it again when it's available to rent on demand, but the experience was completely ruined for me and I don't even know if I will be able to enjoy it on a rewatch.

/end rant. Sorry everyone, had to get that off of my chest. Pfew.

I didn't realize the reviews were skewing negative. I've mostly just been following here where most people have liked it to one degree or another. Definitely better than Lights Out, that's for sure

Awful. I can't fathom being an adult and allowing this to happen.

That really sucks, I'm sorry it ruined your experience with it.
Working at a theater I do everything I can to prevent those kind of incidences, it drives me up the wall when people can't just be respectful of each other in environments like this.

    Just jumping in quickly.

-Don't really care to see Blair Witch.

-31 was disappointing. I'll have to see the unrated version next.

-Don't Breathe was surprisingly good, but that type of storyline seems to be popular these days.

-The original Texas Chainsaw Massacre was the first movie I ever bought myself. The franchise has been...entertaining to say the least, but I am so looking forward to seeing the Leatherface (prequel) movie. Fingers crossed.

-Anyone a fan of the Ash vs. Evil Dead tv show? I think its amazing!

Thank you to whoever it was that mentioned the Wolf Creek series, I'm currently 3 episodes in and loving it. Didn't think a series based on that movie could work but this is great.
