Aaaaand out of the gates with one of my least favorite Copeland songs lmao

 

used a VPN to hear the new version. Coffee was also one of my least favorites of theirs, but this new version sounds fantastic. lots of lush strings.

 

Really excited to hear how this turns out. Would love new music and a tour but any Copeland news is good news.

Unrelated but does anybody remember when they did that show with a full orchestra? I've seen a few videos online but was there ever a plan to release that as a full concert video or vinyl? I would love to have that but don't remember hearing anything

i’m skeptical about the new one. Hopefully it doesn’t try to do “too much” which I have a feeling it will.

 

yeah Coffee is one of my favorite Copeland songs and one of the only few I still can genuinely vibe with from BMT

 

It's a great song from a great album. I feel like they could do a nice updated version.

 

I am very confident I will adore whatever they include on this haha

 

I’ve never been a fan of Coffee personally haha

I prefer a lot of other songs on BMT but it’s been a while since I’ve spun that album

Assuming Paula Sparks won’t be included. Pretty sure he’s all but disavowed that song because of the real Paula Sparks. Maybe a new California though? Would love to hear a reimagined heavier song. A reimagined Fast Song or Can’t Slow Down would be cool

Oh damn, I love it. This could have very easily been half assed; but this is great. Can’t wait to see what else will be included.

 

surprising no-one, this rules. one of my favourites on BMT too behind California

 

It's very well done and sounds lovely but I'm so attached to the original I doubt I'll listen to this more than once or twice.

 

This is exactly where I’m at with it. It’s what I expected too, that it’s kind of doing “too much” and the words and melody are beautiful enough that adding more lush just makes this feel airy. I don’t think I ever needed them to recreate this already-perfect song, but I guess I’ll take it if it means more Copeland.

 

Yeah I'm just happy they're still doing stuff but also kinda sad because I feel like this means it'll probably be a while before we get actual new music from them.

 

with all the glaswing we got last year i kinda figured itd be unreasonable expecting new tunes so soon ngl. i rlly hope these woodwind type arrangements show up in whatever they do next tho i loove the textures of this version
