When they find out the leaker was a conservative, they’ll probably just quietly let the story die down. By that point it will have achieved its desired result anyway (distract the news and many in the general public from the full impact of the decision itself). They don’t actually need to find out who did it, they just need it to be a story unquestioningly reported by the MSM for a couple weeks.

Yes! You need to be doing this on more things, more often! Young voters especially don't give a shit to read about the ins and outs of decorum and tough votes in swing states and blah blah blah....at the very least, in situations liek right now where the writing is on the wall for November as is, you do shit like this to show exactly what it is you're trying to do, and exactly who is standing in your way.

The whole point of the Alito opinion is that they're saying it's for the states to decide individually. The only way to actually "codify Roe" at this point is via constitutional amendment (which, obviously, will never happen). A regular bill passed by Congress will be immediately stricken down by this Court.

It's going to be fun to read how they justify allowing a nationwide ban to stand, though, when the GOP eventually gets around to passing that.

BUt its still important to hold the vote. Put it on the record which electeds exactly are cool with letting states force women to give birth.

 

It's not just women that this ruling will affect. This affects anyone who can give birth.

 

Its worth a shot at least, the argument is fake and full of bullshit but hinges on the idea that the court can't decide and Congress should pass a law if they want to standardize things. This argument just makes it seem like the Dems have no options and should give up now and let them ban it nationwide. I'd feel much better about this party and this administration if they even fucking tried something outside of fundraising on it.

I haven’t talked about this with many people but my girlfriend had to get an abortion in February. If she hadn’t been able to my life and hers would be absolutely fucked and so would that child’s because I am far from stable in my sobriety (I’m getting there) and our finances are beyond fucked and it probably would’ve resulted in a horrible, horrible, horrible situation for everybody involved. I can’t imagine what people who need to get an abortion and now don’t know if they’ll be able to are going through right now
