I feel like the golden age for movies that never happened was like 2005 - 2015 when "quirky indie dramedies" were everywhere. Crazy how many of them came out and immediately vanished into the ether.

I loved Celeste and Jesse Forever. I’d probably slot Dan in Real Life into this indie dramedy category too.

The only one I've seen is It's Kind of a Funny Story. That book really resonated with me as I went through something similar. The author unfortunately killed himself, which is a sad story considering the subject matter of the book.

I've seen all of these movies lol. Celeste & Jesse Forever, Dan in Real Life and Jeff Who Lives at Home I all loved. I also remember Admission, Cyrus and Away We Go being enjoyable.

It's Kind of a Funny Story is a tough one to revisit - it's a true story about a suicidal teenager who checks himself into a hospital to seek help. Sadly the author of the memoir that it's based off of took his life a couple of years after the movie came out.

I feel like the 2000s and early 2010s had a movie every month where well-to-do white people had to go to a place in upstate New York to work out their problems.
