it seems there are two "creatures" or one that can appear in different forms. The different forms may be it due to the different voices people think they are hearing.

Mainly because it consisted of the last 15 minutes and not much else.

Apparently not. I don't go there anymore but I did recently when they broke this was a Blair Witch movie and hyped it all up.

Just got home from this. Holy crap those final 30 minutes were terrifying.

My only gripe with the movie - James really thought his sister was alive in the woods 15 years later? The storyline as to why they come to the woods in the first place doesn't really make sense to me, but it was still a good movie with a whole lot of scares.

I really enjoyed this. Wingard definitely did a great job here, the actors did a pretty good job as well. Also to repeat what everyone has been saying the 3rd act is relentless. They definitely could have done some things better in the long run, and I really hate that they showed the witch, I wish they wouldn't have done that. but all in all a solid horror movie.

Also I really wish they would have kept the title the Blair Witch and had people figure it out as the film progressed, but I guess they figured more people would buy tickets with a more recognizable name.

I assume you mean you wish they would have kept the title The Woods, but even if they somehow made everyone attending a press/advance screening sign an NDA, it would have been all over the internet by Friday morning after Thursday night premieres. There is literally no way it would work - it's impressive enough that they were able to keep it under wraps during filming and the initial rollout.

While it is incredibly unrealistic of him to think that, and he didn't know that time is kind of non linear when it comes those woods, the reality of the movie is that he could have found her. I thought that's where the movie was going once it became clear something was going on with time. But Heather would have been the age she was when she went missing. Although we don't know how far back the time stuff can go. We know for sure the footage Lisa shot towards the end is what inspired them to go out in the first place. But that was potentially only a few days difference. We don't get anything that seems to mess with years length. But the world we see here shows that it was possible for him to find her. But not in the way he would have thought.

Say this last night. The ending was pretty spooky but why did they turn around when they knew the witch would trick them?

    Didn't get that either.

    My guess/thoughts

they were both in an incredibly heightened and freaked out state and just not thinking as clearly as they could be. As well, for James, I don't believe he would have known at that point that the witch can sound like other people. Whatever he heard, the audience did not. Lisa did not either, she was confused when he began to respond to "Heather." But we did hear the witch use Jame's voice to Lisa. With her state of mind and hearing "James" voice it created confusion and she reacted irrationally.

You make a good point, I always forget about the internet ruining things.

I had a lot of fun with this other than obnoxious people in my audience.

An old dude literally fell asleep and snored. Then two older ladies kept whispering to each other a few down from me.

    Other than that-- solid time.

and this is why I make every effort to go to a low traffic theater at low traffic times. Usually bring a couple beers in, haven't had more then fifteen people in a theater in a long time.

Haven't seen the original in at least a decade, and can't find anywhere to (leagally) stream it. Should I wait to see this until I'm able to rewatch the first, or will I be okay?

Usually not a problem for me but for a 2:40 show, this was awful.

  24. Had a horrible opening weekend. Which is surprising, because it seems a lot of the horror movies released this year have performed rather well at the box office.
