An interviewer asked if we can expect another album from those remaining Dragon session songs and Buck said yeah. So seems fair to speculate. Also half of the current new live songs are even newer than those sessions so we probably won't see those recorded for a while

I don't feel like going to look for it but I could have sworn that last fall when everyone was awaiting the announcement that would end up being DNWMIBY, someone mentioned a post on reddit or facebook of someone who talked to the band at one of the secret shows and were told two albums coming. Obviously (even not accounting for me potentially misremembering the anecdote) that's worth taking with a king size grain of salt, but given that:

• they've done two albums in 1 year before,
• recorded 45 songs for this one and said some of their favorites got left off,
• as well as have debuted 6 songs newer than those 45...

I am very on board with believing there will be more than 1 or 2 new Big Thief studio tracks in the next 8-12 months.

I believe you’re referring to this one comment in the fb group, in response to the mojo article. It’s the only post I’ve seen that mentions two double albums. I left out their name since it’s a private group but here’s the post.



Nobody from the Big Thief team appears to follow that manager on Instagram but I would imagine they didn’t make it up

 

not counting on it but wouldn't at all be surprised if we got another Big Thief record this year.

 

I’d love another 20 song album, they’re operating at such a high level right now might as well go all out.

 

Literally down for anything, I have complete faith in this band. Release one new song the rest of the year or put out thirty more, I’m happy either way

 

I will be needing the heavy Dragon from the Shawn Everett sessions at some point tho

 

I need a studio version of “Happy With You” and then I will be happy with Big Thief.

 

Max streamed about an hour of last night's show. Tried to record it all but my phone ran out of space. Luckily it did save this one new song though. She played it once on the 2020 tour that was cut short (clip) and they recorded it during the Dragon sessions.

 

So glad “ Replaced” is getting some love on this tour. Such a gem, one of their best.

 

Gotta love a band whose tours prompt as much discussion as their albums

adrianne played the sickest little fingerpicked solo during "dried roses" I felt like I was levitating

 

Apparently they're on the Late Late Show (Corden) tonight. They aren't listed on the schedule but maybe there was a switch.

So far they've done Simulation Swarm and Spud Infinity for late night shows. I'm guessing this one will be Certainty

 

Just found out this jam band from my state has been playing Time Escaping since at least November lol. Sounds pretty good imo!!
