Ace confirmed on his Instagram story that we're getting both the TEN record and another ICMAM record in the fall. Both are being finalized right now.

IUs TEN record all old songs like rumored, or new material?

 

they def did re-record a bunch of old songs, and it’s confirmed they’re working on new music as well. since Ace didn’t exactly explicitly confirm which projects the releases were for, my gut is saying he meant both of those were coming in the fall and maybe he was just dodging the ICMAM specific portion of the question.

 

I was under the impression that the TEN record was mostly re-recorded unreleased songs but I could be confused on that point.

 

the first few videos they posted were definitely of them recording old rarities and b-sides and they sounded like they were staying fairly faithful to the original songs to me. a bunch of the more recent clips have definitely sounded like new TEN to my ears tho, not just re-recorded old songs. whatever they’re working on here definitely doesn’t sound to me like anything the band would do in the early days. I guess they could always fill an album with re-recorded b-sides AND new songs but I feel like that would be a weird move.

 

I must have missed that clip before but it sounds pretty awesome

Definitely looking forward to their new record. Imbue and Lilac weren't my favorites, but no matter what, the albums are always interesting. Ace is one hell of a songwriter.

Never really got into Lilac. Magnolia was the last TEN song to really hook me. Always excited for more stuff, though.

 

I’ve always preferred the harder side of The Early November as opposed to the softer, melodic stuff/I Can Make a Mess sound.
