I went and had the time of my life. Crowd was cathartic, but I don’t know if that correlates to “horrible”. I will say the line to get in was horrible, we showed up right at doors in Chicago and didn’t make it in for Microwave. Line took about 1.5 hour to get through, which I have never experienced. Demand is high for these shows.

Though not as bad as 1.5 hours (that's insane and I'm sorry), I feel like I've had similar issues at Concord, but they have you going through like 4-5 "stations" to get in and it's a pain getting out the right thing for the right station, so I kinda get it. ID, wristband, vax card, pat down, ticket scanner...

Hadn't had a chance to go to the Radius yet, I'll probably be there for the Thrice/Bayside show in June? How large is it compared to other Chicago venues? Is it always that long to get in over there?

A few weeks ago I posted here about how many shows now are getting sold out or being very crowded, at least in the Chicago area, but I haven't noticed any crazy lines, at least not something that would make me miss the openers.

It’s larger than most Chicago venues, about 3500 cap. It was my first time there, but my friends noted they had never seen a line quite like this for the venue. I presume it had to do with the stacked bill, everyone arriving in the same general timeframe. But to be cautious, I’d show up at doors.

...and as a bonus you get to hear Aaron Lewis spewing out QAnon and other alt-right conspiracy nonsense throughout the whole show

He will receive a hero's welcome those last 3 dates. Weird routing though, Tulsa is NE Oklahoma, Durant is the very bottom, and Shawnee is in the middle of OK

If I could get in for free, I'd honestly go just to witness the shit show and (hopefully hear a few old bangers)

I would pay for Staind to not come anywhere near me…

An easy way to accomplish that for free is to hold marginally progressive/not-hateful beliefs and avoid "the only station that really rocks" in your area if you're unfortunate enough to live in a place where that's still a thing.

Yup. Hilarious how many of those are at casinos too. Someone can lose all their money and can't even comfort themselves with a morose Staind dirge without Aaron Lewis's alt-right nonsense.

That "only station that really rocks" thing is alive and well in most places. I live in NYC and while we have one of those "Alt" stations that tends to play indie pop and alt-rock favorites from the 90's, there are multiple stations in the suburbs (NJ, LI, CT) that have essentially taken the butt-rock playlists of the early 00's and made a whole station out of it.

That's super depressing to learn. Guess I've been believing the "rock radio is dead" hype a bit too much.

I went to Chicago and I feel the crowd was fine, but the band had some weird vibes. I know they dont have a lot of stage presence, but for example the played Quicksand and left the stage without saying anything, the end of show felt really abruptly.

If it wasnt for the crowd going hard on the pit, it would have been one of the most boring shows I've seen.

I went Friday night & got in the pit, it felt pretty unsafe. I’ve been going in the pit for most shows lately, but I think this one will have me out of them again for a while. There wasn’t really any crowdkilling, but there were probably 15 or 20 times that I though myself & everyone around me was going to fall & get trampled,& I haven’t felt like that in a really long time
