Apparently their new album is done and it's the third in the trilogy alongside Melon Collie and Machina.

 

I'm skeptical and approaching a new album with extreme caution. CYR was absolute ass.

 

Cyr is good

 

Last two albums have been duds, with the exception of "Silvery Sometimes."

Just give us the Machina reissue, Billy.

 

The fact that it's synth heavy and produced by Billy Corgan tampers my expectations a bit

 

that damn song being so good fooled me into pre-ordering that terrible ass album haha

 

That album is good

 

Yeah I thought Shiny and Oh So Bright was great. Cyr has a good album buried in there, could've been significantly cut down to a 10 track album and been much better.

 

Silvery Sometimes really was soooo good.

Over in the CYR thread, I recall another member helping me appreciate it a bit more by cutting down the tracklist. I think the one thing that Pumpkins fans can agree on is that every album post-Adore has tracklist/sequencing issues that we as fans can remedy to make a 'great album'. Lol

This all makes me want to revisit these two albums, might do that today or tomorrow. But I also agree I want the MACHINA reissue, and I also want Zeitgeist on Spotify.

 

Seriously, what the hell is the deal with Zeitgeist! I need United States back on my workout playlist asap.

It's because Corgan is a petty turd and everyone complained about Zeitgeist, Zwan, and The Future Embrace, so none of them are available for streaming, because Corgan is petty. Did I also mention he's a turd? And he's petty.

I’m just gonna go ahead and say they haven’t released a good album in 27 years. Everything in between Mellon Collie and now has been a bad album, an ok album, or just an album that exists. I know there are a lot of Adore and Machina lovers, but I’ll never understand how anyone could listen to those front to back and not have to skip a handful of tracks.

 

Thats not how the music business works.

Billy Corgan Pulls Smashing Pumpkins Album After 'Everyone Told Me It Was No Good'

Truthfully, I think Corgan is just being snarky, but I have heard that he actually does want to remix the album because he thinks the original mix wasn't good. It might be a while though cause they're doing this whole thing with Machina.

Maybe rights issues are playing a part, but I do fully believe Corgan was the one who had the albums pulled.

I enjoy the vocals on Zeitgeist. That said, I’m glad Billy never layered his voice like that again.
