People talk over headliners at a lot of my local venues too. People are just generally shitty.

I don't get the concept of paying for a concert to talk through all of it. Just go to a bar if you want to chat.

  3. based on my experience with the venue i’m seeing them at this weekend, this is absolutely gonna be a problem and it’s gonna be a bummer

Dragon (the song) demo released for earth day. I believe it's only available today but not positive. edit - it will be available for two weeks

For every track sold, a minimum of £1.30 goes to EarthPercent's grantmaking programme, after deducting only third-party platform fees and applicable taxes from the purchase price. No EarthPercent operating costs are deducted.
Funds raised support organisations doing vital work to tackle the climate emergency. For more info go to earthpercent.org

edit - check out all of the tracks from other artists here, including Death Cab, Coldplay, Michael Stipe, Dry Cleaning, S. Carey, mum, Lutalo, and a bunch of others

Lost in how much their respective vibes make the album version and heavy version both awesome is that, at its core, this is one of the best Big Thief songs as just a plain old song imo.

“It’s a little bit magic, like a river of morning geese” is a perfect piece of writing.

Apparently they opened with 4 new songs last night. I haven’t seen any recordings but I feel like at least one had to have been new new. Max posted a story of them sound checking a new one on Thursday

  14. i think more like a couple to open and then another new one towards the end. i don’t keep up with the live versions too much but i think cactus practice might be new new, which they played second or third

    wild setlist

Adrienne said she had hurt her back or something, so she played the entire set sitting down tonight. 4-5 new songs, closed with Mary. Cattails was the highlight to me. Didn’t get Not or Black Diamond or Dragon, or any other “intense” songs. Understandable given the circumstances. Hope she feels better soon.

I’m seeing them on Monday and cannot wait. Hopefully there aren’t a lot of talkers but I’m pretty sure there will be, considering there were quite a few when I saw Snail Mail at the same venue last week. The thing I don’t understand about people talking during sets is that concert tickets, or more specifically tickets to see artists at Big Thief’s level/higher are…not cheap so these people are basically just not only wasting their own money but wasting other peoples money they paid to watch the show. I don’t get why anyone would pay that much to not get your moneys worth.

That’s ridiculous. I know tickets to the Wilco shows were quite expensive so for someone to do that is just…mind boggling.

  19. Yeah they weren’t cheap even though we were in the second balcony!

Very good show last night. I was bummed to miss out on some of their louder tracks like Not or Simulation Swarm but the stripped back vibe was still really cool. The new songs were predictably great, particularly Once a Buncha Times and Sadness as a Gift

Yeah she was seated for the entire show

She only sat for one show so far (Royal Oak) and there wasn't a show last night. Very curious what happened and if she'll continue to stay seated, hopefully it's nothing serious. I'm glad they finally played Anything Goes and Cactus Practice. Haven't seen any recordings yet so hopefully they keep playing them

I believe the times for most of the shows, at least weekdays, have been opener at 8 and Big Thief at 9:15
