I have lived in Florida almost my entire life but I manage to wear proper swimwear.

So many people don't understand the difference. I actually grew up minutes from Miami so I was in the heart of one of the stereotypes. We used to go to the beach every day after school.

 

I've literally never been to Miami and when I moved away from Florida people were amazed I didn't go there all the time.

 

To be clear I already went swimming today because it is a holiday.

 

I am ten minutes from the beach, 45 minutes from the space center, and an hour from the theme parks. I actually never even went to Kennedy until a few months ago.

 

You guys are talking about Georgia Florida and Florida Florida, but I live in Naples and I consider Miami to be a completely different universe.

I'm a 830-1 beach person. Much less crowded and I'm fairly drunk by 1.

 

Just thinking of someone swimming in jeans makes me uncomfortable. I don't even like when wrestlers fight in their street clothes. Doesn't seem fun in the least.

 

Under the Silver Lake is an incredible film that was largely incorrectly received.

 

I-4 Corridor (Clearwater-St Pete-Tampa-Lakeland-Orlando-Daytona) is completely different than South Florida and North/Panhandle too.

Some people talk about there being "two Floridas", but really there is three or four Floridas

 

And I'm from the worst one!

 

the real answer early morning isn't the best for the beach is because the tide is at it's highest in the morning and lowest in the evening. In Florida best time to go to the beach in summer is halfway between morning hightide and evening lowtide. Around 1-2pm is perfect.

 

Also as a Floridian i beg all midwesterners in here, please for the love of god if you go to the beach don't feed the seagulls. If you wonder while you're doing that why all the locals around you are giving you dirty looks, you'll know why 5 minutes later.
